  1. Do you have any Pins and Bolts for the DIN plate?
  2. Nope. Just trying to break the "What Boots","Best Saw" pattern of Threads. I think it would be interesting to find the ratio of Graduates vs jobs,to gauge the demand.
  3. Googled it.There are Bloody heaps of "Treesurgeon Courses" in the UK.There may be over a Thousand Treesurgeons graduate each year.
  4. Like a DJ? Probably the ones that go on to do broadcasting John. What a silly question.
  5. Learning is discovery. Go do some Discovering.
  6. I was thinking this today, whats the total number of graduates seeking work each year in the UK? How many Colledges,Polytech's,Short Courses, etc are being run? It would be interesting to see how many advertised job opportunities there have been in the past year vs how many have graduated.
  7. STUNT FELL! "Because saving time ain't a Crime!
  8. How much Lead can one expect to be exposed to from using a Throw Bag? How much Lead is released by a Throw Bag? How long does it take for a Throw Bag to begin to release Lead? How many times do we handle a Throw Bag? Do we manage to keep a Throw Bag long enough for it to begin to release Lead All this questions need to be answered before your concerns regarding Lead exposure from Throw Bags can be seriously considered.
  9. Whats wrong with using lead? Its probably alot safter than throwing a Pointed Heavy Object around.
  10. That saw cost him £772 plus the Vat. Its been used now, and I would guess he's looking for £700. So its been used and is more expensive than a new one.
  11. Cheeky Buggar! Do you think he was one of the minority of Travellers who do things like that? Or just some person knocking on doors and telling lies to get Tree Work?
  12. Or someone bought a handle and stuck it on it?
  13. Spot on! Truth be told,I'd rather not work for friends or acquaintances.
  14. You may well be confusing North America with the Rest of the World Sir. Bucket Trucks are only Common in North America and indeed the Continental US and Canada. Surprisingly most Tree Work in the World is in my experience and estimation carried out with a minimum of Tools and equipment.
  15. Lee Do you think there is a Governmental prejudice stemming from a negative social perception of the Travelling community? If so what is the goal of the Governments "agenda?"
  16. I think its great that anyone can walk into a shop and buy an 088.Basic Chainsaw tickets don't teach you how to use a saw like that, much in the same way your Car Licence dose not teach you how to handle a big V8.Its nice to know there are still a few little "Freedoms" to be had. Chainsaws are not that dangerous, not really. Its abit like this job we do,for most of us its the most exciting,Macho, different and unusual thing we have done regularly. So in that sence,Chainsaws may well be the most dangerous destructive and scary thing we have handled or used.
  17. Can you give us an example?
  18. I was once told "its not what you are selling, but how you sell it". So I have rebranded all my Firewood. Here is a Glossary of Terms: Kiln Dried:Pile Covered with a Stolen Tarp Air Dried :Tarp Stolen off Pile Oak: Any Hardwood without Tell Tale Bark Attached Woak : "White Oak" Actually its Willow without any Bark Canadian Furnace Ceder :(Leylandii) Assorted Fruit Tree: Bits of Plum Tree, mainly Branches Sprayed with Ribeena. Soft Wood: Pallets I have nicked If any Clients moan that any of the above won't burn.I offer to visit and show them how to start a Fire Correctly. Its a great way to have a look inside their House etc.
  19. I sold a Cube of Oak the other day for £100.I even included stacking it for the Client, thats a great way to have a look around for anything worth Stealing.
  20. Appreciate that Garth! I will pull it off and take the measurements before I give them a Bell.
  21. Thanks Tom! Thanks Mr Treequip, the Bearings I got Raped over were the Main Bearings.I will measure the UJ and make some phone calls,it dosn't have any manufacturers name on it.
  22. The "UJ" on the Top Feed Roller Shaft in my Jensen 528T is becoming Slogged out.Does anyone know where I can source a complete replacement? I require the entire assembly as the Roll pin has sheared a number of times and the UJ ridden up the output Spline and Slogged the UJ out. I would like to Source the parts outside of Dealerhsip Channels,as I paid £600 for "Special Bearings made soley for Jensens" to find them available for 1/3rd of that elsewhere.
  23. Put your Rope up high and straight to you Branch, get your body down low or you aint got a chance. Put a re direct in,if your angles to flat If the Branch is to thin then Crawl like a Cat. Thats what Mick told me to do.
  24. I was thinking about trying this out.Does anyone here have a background with this system? I think it looks quite relevent since it began at Street level and has been developed for the Police and Military.
  25. Shame they wern't Greyhounds.
