  1. Nice pics Steve! I am pleased you didn't dump it in one.Your looking a bit Chunky and the excercise probably did you a power of good mate!
  2. They look Smart! However if their looks elevate their price above the ISC ones, then I would leave them on the Shelf. Good to see some new shapes and colours in the rigging bag though.
  3. Nice Job Ross! Where abouts in ChCh was that?
  4. I beleive bonus systems cause more harm than good in our industry. Hand the lads a days work on paper, when its done they go home.
  5. I personally don't think the next Ten years willmean many more changes than the last. Most of us source the bulk of our work in the Private sector. This work caters for the needs of clients with little or no Arb knowledge.I can count on one hand the number of times private Clients have requested copies of my insurance or qualifications. Also the work that we sometimes do is in no way any more sympathetic to the Trees than the work carried out at any time in the past 20 years. Our clients in the Public sector do demand insurance and proof of quals. However they typically know what works they require and we work to that Rule. Some exceptions have been Coronet cuts or Tree retention when the original intend was for the Trees to be felled. As I have said in the past,we provide a service and that service depends on the customers demands.
  6. At least felling it at that hight means your not cutting through all the Sand thats in the Bark. Christ I am pleased that Radiata's are no longer a Tree I have to deal with. Farking hate them.
  7. Big Tree! Looks like you guys did a great job on that one. Nice to see two Brothers in the game together.
  8. You can bolt rims from the larger Suzuki Quad bikes onto those hubs. People use them for driving on the Beaches back home.
  9. If your problem is with businesses then you have to pre arrange payment before you start,ie have a payment date agreed on the quote. I can't see it being a problem with domestic customers, many people in NZ still use cheque books,so could they not leave the cheque? We subscribe to a debt collection company,it costs about £300 per anum. They give us 97% of the debt upfront and take the case from there. We have used them a few times and feel its money well spent. Maybe have on your quotes,"overdue accounts will be submitted to BayCorp"
  10. Nice Pics! I have about four Cord of split Oak,Ash and Syc in a Pile.I was going to stuff it into net bags,do you think it drys faster in a pile outside or in net bags outside?
  11. Saddle/Harness topper/Climbing saw Truck/Van,Wagon Gas/Petrol Climbing Irons/Spikes,Spurs Buddy/Mate Gas Station/Garage
  12. That is one smart looking unit mate!
  13. Nice one mate! Hope it does you well! I remember feeling so chuffed going home after buying my first chipper.
  14. Or....... Get good at what you do......apply for a job overseas.....buy a ticket....... AND GO
  15. Man I remember making those... Putting a short length of Rope through two holes at each end makes them nicer to lift or drag.
  16. Sympathy's to his family. Sounds like he had just left Colledge?
  17. I am not sure sign written Vehicles help. Perhaps its a matter or "they are doing it,so should I".Here all the Builders have sign written Vans, few Plumbers do however. I beleive a well constructed Web site, professional service and customer care are more important.
  18. 6X6 is great in a straight line. But a Turd to try and turn with even just the rear Diffs locked. A Chipper on the back would not be much of a load for it.But personally why not tow the chipper with a fast Tractor? Most of the gear like that I have seen working or used, had to drive on and only on the Chip that was produced.Otherwise much stuckness would insue. Also if you bog somthing like that down to the Axels, you need alot to budge it.
  19. Brown and Pink are popular colour's when it comes to BANDITS Frank.Probably eat it right up.
  20. Thanks for the kind comments.I hope the pictures were interesting,I had a couple of Albums from Logging in Canada but lost them in a breakup with an ex girlfreind.
  21. Because they won't run through a Pulley?
  22. They are Pinus Radiata and Douglas Fir. Bad thing is that in the heat Doug Fir Clearfell smells like Cheese Toasties.14hour days in 30deg + sweating your nads off in a cloud of Cheese Toastie aroma is not pleasent. I wish I had a didgi cam back then.I saw the blade get ripped off a Dozer once,it flew about 300meters into the Gully. The Skyline used to be attached to the Dozer blades. After that it was run through a Hole in the Blade and attached to the tow hitch at the rear.
  23. Get a a sack of Sawdust some Wood Glue and a Wacker Plate. Once its all mixed up and Wacked flat, use a long Steel Ruler and Marker Pen to draw the Parket. Viola! Genuine Parket Oak Flooring!
  24. Its your Truck so do what you want with it. It looks like you have been hitting muddy puddles at speed, that pushes abrasive crap into joints and electrics.
