  1. Its probably Marketed to Scandinavia. Most people only Burn Birch ,its easy to Split. I don't think its designed to Split Hardwoods, most people don't burn them.
  2. There is very little Hand Felling going on here.Sometimes small Parcels of Larger Pines are Felled for Cabin Construction however 99% of it is done with a Harvester. The Line Clearance guys are often on the lookout for Employees, can ask around if thats your thing?
  3. Snow Patrol
  4. Could be the bearing. Take the Belts off and Spin the Disc, you may hear Rumbling or Sqeaking both are signs of Bad bearing(s). You can try to shift the disc with a bar any play up or down means the Bearing(s) are going. Replace both bearings as then you know the jobs done.
  5. I can see that Helmet catching on with Tall Ravers who routinely strike their Heads on low Beams at Warehouse Parties etc. Treemen...not so much.
  6. Its all better than push starting!
  7. You must drink alot of Water and eat many leafy Veges. How can i produce more semen like the guys in the porn movies? - Yahoo! Answers
  8. Get yourself a Work Visa from the Canadian Embassy and then head over to Vancouver.Once you are there start calling round, stay at a Back packers Hostel untill you land a job and them move close to it. The Biggest Trees in Urban area's are in West Vancouver. However there are more Tree Companies on the Mainland. You can try Burley Boys Tree Service Davey Tree : Expert Tree Service Since 1880 : Tree Service and Lawn Service in Vancouver, British Columbia Find local businesses, products, reviews and deals on YellowPages.ca No one is going to give you a job without a trial.Likewise its useless being in the UK and not Canada if you want to work there. It can be difficult getting a work Visa for the States and you have to be in your home Country to apply anyway. From what my mates tell me its unlikely that a firm in the US can't find a Climber locally to fill a role. There are alot of solid guys who are out of work.
  9. I love this Weather! There are so many positive aspects to it.If you can't/don't want to work in it then fair enough.Snow is expected here and you just have to prepare and drive accordingly.I tow a 2ton Trailer around the Hills Daily and in 4X4 with a pair of Chains in the back just in case its really no problem, just take it abit slower and use your Brain.I have yet to fail to reach a job, even it it means towing the Trailer loaded with gear in with the Tracked Chipper. There is always a way.
  10. Demand is exceeding Supply,so its a sellers market. They have made an informed choice, and only have themselves to blame if they don't like it. Why do you sell the Macro so cheap?I have found its excellent Firewood and very attractive when Milled.
  11. My Grandmother has Altzeimers and Dementia. She has totally lost most of her cognitive functions and no longer recognises her own Daughter. It will be hard for your Wife to realise that the things that are sometimes said and done by the effected person are because of the illness and not displeasure at the person who is trying to help. Its going to be a tough one mate.
  12. Get the Saw that suits the Job you intend to do with it. Its the operator that makes using a Chainsaw unsafe.
  13. Normally I relax and tone up with some Finnish Disco. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwakjoSs754]YouTube - Finnish Disco Dancing[/ame]
  14. Clip a Throw bag to the end of your rope with a Key Chain type Biner,it will make it swing a bit when you lob it over a Crotch.
  15. What dates are you thinking of Mick?
  16. To be honest, with the Exception of the "RC" serise of lowering Devices and Brush trailer.I do not think Stein makes anything of professional quality,I struggle to accept that this is any different.
  17. This guy is probably Polish... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9L2yYsoDFB4]YouTube - Tredoktor[/ame]
  18. Long lowering Rope
  19. Good thinking! How about a special scabbard to wear on your back? You would probably have to weld a little piper extension to the Muffler on your saw to carry the hot exhaust away from your neck. But it would be a couple of steps up the ladder from the "Windmill"?
  20. I normally knock the Bark off with and Axe to save the Chain and Face cut at ground level. If your back cut is level with the Bottom of the Face cut,it reduces the negative effects of any Wavy Fibers. As I understand, the "Step" between the corner of the Face Cut and the Back cut is to prevent the Tree Sliding back off the Stump should it hit another Tree as its falling?Somthing we seldom encounter in Garden Tree Work. I fail to see the point in your promoting of this Technique futher than stimulating discussion.
  21. I liked it. For all we know they could be a bunch of Loggers who taught themselves how to do this. They may not be any further aware of this industry than the "Sherrill" Cataloge. I do sloping Cuts on the Big Stuff if I can, helps to have a Bar long enough to reach all the way through and these guys had one. I don't think this Video is pretentious, its just a few unpolished Climbers getting it done in their own way.Thats pretty much how I Roll too.
  22. If you have a small client base, sendout Christmas cards all of them.Or to clients who spent more than say £700.These are the Clients with money who will have some to spare at this time of year.
  23. Try and dry out your boots at night.Put them ontop of a open Door as the air is warmer and stays warmer up high. Wear your Thick Socks/Cotton Socks combo and change the inner pair at lunchtime.

    step cut

You didn't make that cut up. Its been used for years to Fell Heavy leaning Trees. You used the technique and then applied Tension using an external device. Your cut is the same as this one. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RWXWh6wDOXY]YouTube - bore and release[/ame]
  25. Eat some Beans? Its nice to start up a Diesel and not smoke out the yard though.
