  1. same here bro, the newer versions have been changed and not as tree happy as the old style.eyelets broke off mine too. its a shame as the old ones were super comfortable and lasted really well. Ewan-were those the ALP trainer model? think they are the superlightweight ones and def wouldnt stand up to lots of treeclimbing
  2. damaged whipping would fail loler? -we dont have loler here in NZ ( but i know what loler is). the whipping does nothing for the structure or safety so what diff does it make?
  3. send paul an email and youll get the cost and shipping cost.
  4. And remember that the cinch handle is on the right but you gotta use your left hand so that it rotates a bit on release. Using your right hand can bend the lever away from the body and cause it too not work so well and also buggers the lever after time.
  5. supposed to be officially launched at TCIA expo
  6. SingleRopeWorkPositioning (SRWP). my personal opinion is that srt gear should have the option of descent built into it, such as rope wrench, unicender, hitchhiker, rig. im not so much of a fan of ascent only systems..
  7. its not out yet sorry paul. print run starts on the 17th(?) i believe.
  8. hey Donney, just read it in ibooks and its clear and concise.
  9. thats the one use Petzl now specifically say it shouldnt be used for bro. it must always be attached to the operator.
  10. i broke my scaphoid when i was 14. was supposed to be 6 weeks heal time but i cut the cast off early to go riding and ended up taking about 6 months to heal. crazy amount of pain for such a small bone. gutted for you bro
  11. Inspiritaional stuff buddy. Love it.
  12. Maori- just say mouldy bread. Then say it without the bread an hey presto...
  13. My dads got one! Rewarewa is my favourite grain
  14. no worries bro. when is silky making a trip down under??
  15. but youve gotta go back to it silky. just leave your tail over a branch ( over halfway between floor and cambium saver). when you reach the ground, clip the tail above your hitch and pull it up . when you release your spliced eye it will go up to and pull the saver out and the tail will catch it at the branch it went over. that may not make any sense via a keyboard however!
  16. you dont need to though, just catch it with the tail of your rope. a throwline in the tree will/can create headaches.
  17. A nice non retrievable redi on srt is To tie an alpine bfly in your rope, chuck a sling round a branch and clip the bfly to it- this eliminates the stretch problem. Not very adjustable but you can use a prussic in place of the bfly if your after adjustability. It may help at times, esp on windy days...
  18. nah, its pretty easy as long as its clean.

  21. Will- all the bus stop and parking signs in Auckland can be lifted out of the ground- there just held by a small pin or grub screw. That may make things easier if you know. It's not beat practice but having your lanyard around the tree and back to the same point/side d can help to stop you slipping under Te stem. You could use 2 lanyards if you wanted. In a big company like 'splundh you won't get thanked for going the extra mile if you hurt ya self, the guys doing line clearance will jump at the chance to get away from the lines. Remember there's a massive staff shortage, don't let them pressure you.( but good on ya for getting stuck in bro)
  22. How about the new Stihl 150? Absolutely tiny apparently...
  23. Say the brand bro
  24. thats brilliant bro
  25. Yeah that couple of quid will bankrupt ya...
