  1. Meindl do there own proofing wax- not sure if it's any different from say nikwax etc.. Though leather covered goretex normally requires something specialist...
  2. Again totally unedited. I accidently hit the gopro and changed the angle so its a weird one to watch but does show whats going on with the hitch etc... Once again, sorry if it makes you motion sick...... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Efpx6GAOlRQ]srt retraverse - YouTube[/ame]
  3. I'll chuck a few pics together of some diff retrieval tie ins bro
  4. Yeah benn, I very rarely base tie for that and other reasons. Yep helical hitch Yep escalator..
  5. 45m bro
  6. a rough, unedited, no music traverse through 3-4 oaks in Auckland Domain. Ive also videod the return to show how easy going back via srt is but i knocked the gopro into a down position. apologies if the shakiness makes you feel sick...[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddhJkt5k9ts]srt traverse - YouTube[/ame]
  7. no arguements there... im loving seeing all the small, climber based companies that are popping up, using there knowledge to push the industry forward. similar to your rigging thread bro
  8. hmm, im not sure. i imagine they would meet loler under fit for purpose but may very well be wrong due to regulations blah blah blah. I know its being used in the states at least. Adam- for Rossi its not about having some balls, hes just a very knowledgable guy and just wanted to make something better....

  12. 4m of 10mm dynamic (edeldrid flashlight) running through a cinch or 4m of sterling tritech with 6mm OV as hitch cord ties in a vt.
  13. how does the stiff tether work if the carabiner is there? surely it becomes a pivot point???
  14. im a bit biased towards spliced ropes BUT the're good if you move onto a hitchclimber setup- a knot can be pretty dodgy if used in this setup( on your main line). personally id get a 45m rope and a 25m rope...
  15. sorry bro, no idea. i imagine any NE ropes distributor would be able to at least ship in a "trial "sample.... TBH though, the rope has never really set the world on fire with its marketing
  16. yeah i agree about those type of eyelets, normally pretty shite for treework...
  17. I don't know the figures but nowhere near as much stretch as patron and not as super static as globe. It is however very light and this can sometimes be a benefit and also a pain.
  18. tell you what bro, the big stiff tether looks huge and unwieldy but onrope it works really really well....
  19. i work srt off escalator
  20. Do you not find patron to be as bouncy as hell John?
  21. I like it but id prefer a plastic thimble purely for less weight and metal.... But mean effort:)
  22. that looks sick dak... did you leave the core in the ov??
  23. at least youve chosen the hottest time of the year to work in OZ bro!!
  24. at least youve chosen the hottest time of the year to work in OZ bro!!
  25. ive got the BD double and the deluxe fly. the standard fly doesnt have a zip opening, you have to lift it up to get in-for me the extra expense of the deluxe is well worth it-it also has windows!. the portaledge is a brute to carry through the bush, i wouldnt want to carry it too far. especially when compared to carrying a lil hennessy. If your filming and NEED to keep camera gear dry and want to edit etc on site then the double is the way to go. if you just want to keep the camera dry, a spare hennessy may be easier to carry. If your girl/partner likes climbing trees, then the double portaledge is a no brainer
