  3. Hey bro welcome to nz. If you ever want to catch for a climb/ beer, just drop me a line on 021738696. And if you can, be in Wellington in 2 weeks for the nz national champs. Will be a good weekend. Enjoy the city of sails!!

  4. agreed, we used one on marum to pull our ropes up.we wore through 2 wear plates and a capstan pulling the ropes up due to the scoria, they do not like dirt at all. look forward to seeing how you get on ian, i can imagine it will make some jobs a lot easier.
  5. okay ill dig em out for ya geez. the exposed eyes is esp important if there put into the inside of a pinto pulley say
  6. even though AP is a class 2 rope and brummels break at about 24kN on it, its not advised to do as the core has very low heat resistance, so a running rope that touchs it will melt it damned quick. This is a great instance where a class 1 used in a hitch situation is far superior. If you still want the measurements for the beeline though man ive got 'em if you want 'em. wonder how long before this turns into a heated srt debate........
  7. yep, thats the point of it.takes friction away from the hitch and places friction on the fig 8
  8. it is about 1% as good as a rope wrench however
  9. Yeah i was going to be bro but realised ( just before buying the flights) that its the same weekend as the nz nationals that I'm climbing at... Lil bit gutted tbh, sounds like it'll be a blast.
  10. same here bro
  11. Grizzly is sherrills name for it. Anchor bridge rope works has one, tree stuff has one, Treetools has one, beal, sterling, teufelberger etc..
  12. That's 100% locked bro.
  13. If its cool with you bro well mak e one up on the stitching machine at Treetools and see how it flys.. Cool?
  14. The donaghys is designed for hmpe fibres too so it's all good.
  15. Donaghys rope coat( on the 8mm beeline)
  16. The new tethers from ABR/tree stuff now solve the issue. A rubber bandit us inserted into the eye..
  17. Yeah it's all good bro. Splicing is a big responsibility as people's life's do hang off your product so you just have to make sure you do it correctly. But like most things, once you get your head around the whole process it's not a biggie. If for any reason your not 200% happy with it, cut it off and redo.
  18. congrats on the good news to bro!
  19. Constant testing is done to prove that the splices will not fail. How do you expect a splice to fail?? Not really get the point your making sorry bro
  20. yes i guess im lucky to be living in a country where if you make a mistake its your fault, not the employers. I think its a silly arguement tbh, i trained on a blakes hitch-no one "trained" me on a vt, nor a spiderjack/lockjack. But no one complaind about these in the industry. But i totally see your point bro, not arguing.
  21. nice one jonesie. its great to see a completely fresh and new outlook at how a product can be made. Im still a smidge sceptical but looking forward to being proved completely wrong
  22. heat rises after all. not knocking the helmet-just curious.
  23. where are all the vents? looks like it may get hot as **** during summer especially here in the antipodes..
  24. ha, i doubt it. or find someone with an industrial sewing machine. have honeys got a stitching machine?
  25. Tree stuff.com sells the stiff tethers and probably a few others too bro
