  1. I thought the stiff tether was rubbish til i used it. Now I'm convinced it makes the rw a far better device.
  2. The advantage of the o rig is it lets you adjust it under full load- you cannot sk that with a tibloc or marlin spike. A duck/ rope man is too easy to adjust and can advance itself into a position to far away from you.

  4. secret weapon with a melting point of "Dyneema® fiber has a melting point between 144ºC and. 152ºC. " ??. i know your a fan of dyneema bro but i just dont like it being used where heat can build up. But im sure yours is sweet as... Whats the advantage in using dyneema in that application? not having a go, just curious thats all.. is it because its small? just googled it- its covered yeah?
  5. don't use a tibloc on the o rig Bing, it can get a bit loaded and be hard to release. but yeah, itll work. a small prussic made from 6mm cord is the best ive found
  6. yale blue tongue and HRC hitch cord..
  7. Hey bro, if your hitch fails on either srt or drt- your buggered! A question about why you wouldn't be allows to work from it- how come? Both systems- one rope, one hitch.
  8. Clip it into your lower d ring bro
  9. welcome...
  10. You won't be disappointed bro, you made a good choice.
  11. They are all good ropes but my preference is the teuf green black and white. B/w seem to be hard wearing colors for some reason....
  12. Teufelberger one has less stretch an fluffs the least in my experience. The orange a close second.
  13. from memory its a class 2 double braid bro. i haven't done one in absolute ages tbh, theres a mid layer between the core and cover if i remember correctly? teufelberger has instructions somewhere on there site too..

  14. ouch bro. hope the recovery goes well. yeeesh that looks sore...
  15. how soon is soon?
  16. Geez, I only climbed that traverse srt to see what it was like on comparison! One thing of note was that to do that drt would of meant reanxhoring 3x and getting back to the start would of been a lot harder. I've asked if I could do my last 2 comps srt but haven't been allowed- still yet to be given a good and reasonable answer. In the rescue I feel it's a lot safer due to no changeovers of system- twice I've been tech and seen people completely disconnect from all systems due to panic and adrenaline. Surely that's a major safety issue? One thing I've noticed is that a climber on srt will lOok at and climb the tree completely diff to a drt climber- not saying either is better but until you've spent a long time on each I'm not sure it's easy to compare. For me i see srt climbing as akin to lead climbing on rock, the ability to set a lot redis/anchors maybe not quicker but does limit possibility of falls swings and this in turn can enable a climber to climb more efficiently. But anyway back to that spiderjack.......
  17. Yep, I'm sold..
  18. gotta say that the new wrench with the stiff ABR tether is brilliant. very smooth. well done Kev, ISC and ABR.
  19. Exactly bro.
  20. Yeah and also the quality of cordage.
  21. Tbh even then it wouldn't worry me bro. 10mm op is 33kN, chuck a fishermans in there and so get's a break strain of 24kN(?).
  22. It's a good point. BUT hitch cord slides and never reaches a breaking point. If the cordage slips at 4-5kN and continues to slip, does it matter if it's break strain is 16kN?? It's a really good point and I think highlights an area that is very grey. I think it's why a cinch has no breaking point, same as a unicender etc. but yeah the hitch does see more load than in drt BUT I find the rw takes a phenomenal amount of loading away from the hitch, well I never burn hitchs out on srt anyway.
  23. Yeah it is bro, still unsure if I like it or not. Runs through pantin really nice, feeds down into hitch nicely but justa feels very weird. It's crazy light so good for when you've gotta move it a lot ( like the vid) but crap for lowering it to the ground. Yep, it's a strange rope indeed.
  24. No idea bro, was thinking I could maybe do something but It obviously didn't work. Like i said though, it's unedited and **** happens... I'd never done that route before on srt so mistakes happen...
