  1. Some good news at last, but if the police had located the quad in their camp would they have gone in?
  2. Does anyone know whether you can claim against tax for Training courses if you are self employed?
  3. Thanks to Steve and ISC, my pulley that I won arrived yesterday!
  4. I use a soldering iron to engrave post code, name and date. If you sprayed the whole saw pink, would that deter somebody from nicking it?
  5. I have the Digbits grab and it's very well made. Good for moving brash and timber but not so good at picking up a good handful of 12" logs. I would like to make some attachment to go on it but not sure how to do it as it needs to be very strong but easily demountable when not required.
  6. Any bats inside ?
  7. ditto Here we go again...
  8. That means if you get planning permission on it you have to give the vendor 50%. I have seen that clause before. If it's in a Conservation area planning will be very strict, even to store logs on, unless they have come from the site itself.
  9. So they redesigned all the cab fascia to improve the heating and end up boiling their customers instead! And I was looking forward to trading up to a Puma...
  10. Is it an old linesman's belt ?
  11. The PIR outside lights come on here when it's very windy. I can't remember the technical details why though, maybe it's a similar thing.
  12. Did you use a rude word?
  13. Presumably it's 50km as the crow flies not actual road miles driven from base?
  14. Can you stand on Neddy or do you have to walk along side. I can see both options would be useful?
  15. Galvafroid is good stuff. Make sure you stir it properly and prepare the metal well.
  16. Right then, I can go back to sleeping at night
  17. Leaving VOSA out of it, have a had a quick look on the web for FACTs and haven't found anything as yet. Do you think our Greek counterparts are busy installing Tachos as we speak?
  18. erm... paid off
  19. I think thats the model I have. Its a good bit of kit, well thought out. Great where you have the clearance to get it in. It needs two people to keep moving it around and set it up each time. We never collapse it for storage, so it takes up a lot of space in the trailer moving between jobs. We have a 3ft extension for it but it takes forever to fit it so we try to avoid using it unless really necessary.
  20. Start in Wales and move onto the Amazon?
  21. Damn! Bought one a week ago. I bought the Arborist model as you suggested but today I tried to reattach the second piston, in somebodys garden,(to use the pole saw) and the fiddly little retaining spring, sprang away, never to be seen again. Is there any easy way to fit them and can I have a spare please !!? Apart from that it does every thing you claim and I have to say I am impressed. It takes a bit of getting use to and its cumbersome, but if you have alot of hedging to do and its clear of obstructions then its a very useful tool. My arms and back have benefitted. I have used it up a short ladder, with a tee piece, where it's not possible to use the Henchman and I didn't have any problems.
  22. I'm about an hour from Plymouth and need extra hands occasionally.
  23. I received a kind invitation to renew today. On close examination of :- http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/static/documents/Business/Who_should_register.pdf it looks like we don't need a licence anymore, (unless your carrying rubble etc) but we will need a licence from end of Dec 2013, but it will be free.
  24. Okay, I understand now, thanks
