  1. I used a 1m extension pole on the Stihl Combi hedgetrimmer and it did my back in, just not worth it, find other ways. I also fitted the hedgecutter part to the extending pole saw as an experiment but it's just to heavy and cumbersome.
  2. Look at it another way and you can suggest the hedge is too high and get paid to reduce it.
  3. I thought I remember reading that putting even more % ethanol in was being delayed due to concerns for older cars.
  4. Something to look forward to then.
  5. Ditto what everyones said. Make sure the Anti Vibes are good on any tools you use.
  6. Some years ago there was a tyre burning electricty generator that was going to be the answer to disposal. Is it still going I wonder, probably not.
  7. Any dealer care to comment on falling Stihl sales?
  8. Any Government that lets the lights go out will not be re-elected, they know that so will switch large industry off long before domestic gets hit.
  9. Is it near Castle Drogo?
  10. I bought a light landscaping rake from Digbits which i intended to use for raking wildflower meadow grass and getting the thatch out at the same time but I found it difficult to not gouge out lumps of turf with it. It was fairly easy to bend a tine as well if you caught a large stone so went back to hand raking in the end. I now use it for turning my large vegetable bed over and roughly levelling it.
  11. Does us all good to hear stories like this every so often, thanks for posting.
  12. Good idea, could you post the link for us.
  13. Crime really does pay. The Judge gets paid a nice salary and gets lent on by Government, who get a nice salary, not to hand out custodial sentences cos it's cheaper, so the poor hard working bloke at the bottom picks up the bill for the lot.
  14. Good news, let's hope they are taken out of circulation for a long time.
  15. I think they feed off the sugary softwood sap. I've seen them before on larch straight after felling.
  16. We buy more Online in this country than anywhere else in the world. Which is probably a lot to do with congested roads, high fuel prices and difficult parking.
  17. Any Stihl dealers like to comment on Sales falling off since the Online Policy was introduced?
  18. Hope the POLICE find them, it's their job, especially with evidence as clear as that.
  19. Thanks to Stihls ridiculous Online Policy, I have been looking for a recent second hand Brushcutter on Ebay. I have noticed how many brushcutters on Ebay fail to show in the photo or mention the harness or simply have a loop harness supplied. It's impossible to use a professional model without one, so I can't help wondering why. Are they nicked?
  20. Oi Mick, I'm thin as that rake, that's why they call me Porky.
  21. Have you got a Link or a Manufacturer name please?
  22. Has anybody ever used a powerful Back Pack Blower to shift dry long grass into heaps, for collecting up, instead of raking it up? I'm talking about grass in a Churchyard that gets cut a couple of times a year but has to be raked off. I have always used hay rakes in the past, just looking to speed up the process if possible.
