  1. I spoke to VW about the Anorak back in july '10. Supposed to be out in Sept '10 then Jan11. Supposed to be all their own work at a price to compare with the L200. I liked the "family" identity and styling but a tow limit of 2800kgs was disappointing and the price was supposed to go up as soon as it was released. Aimed at posers with big pockets and small willies was how one guy put it to me! I had a Taro back in 1990 - pants! Absolutely rubbish, just like the Hilux only you could not get bits for it. Mine had a pressure plate from a Toyota saloon car, friction plate from a Toyota hatch and the glass was all different which no one stocked. I knew within a month that I should have gone LR but had it on finance for 3 years, Swapped it as soon as I could and it was worth naff all. Big Big Mistake:thumbdown:

Jeremy Smithers is the Northern Area Rep for Hunters, give him a call on 07825 012261 and he should be able to tell you straight or contact Fletcher Stewart on 0161 483 5542, they used to be the distributers so will have knowledge of the older machines.
  3. Just for those who are unsure - Timber wolf is the brand name for woodchippers manufactured by Entec. They are one and the same. Many years ago they were yellow/black with a picture of a woodpecker on the side now they are orange/black with a dogs face on the side and a sticker saying Timberwolf. But they are the same. If you are looking to purchase a machine (any machine) then, please, always ask the original supplier or manufacturer for the history on the serial number. If the plate is missing, get on the 'phone as there may be other indentifying numbers on the machine which could reveal whether it is genuine or not. If you are selling, have this info to hand and never release the machine to ANYONE without cleared funds. Bankers draft or building society can be forged or stolen and cheque or credit card is no proof of funds being available. WAIT UNTIL THE FUNDS HAVE CLEARED AND THEN ADD 3 DAYS! If it is a genuine deal then the seller/buyer will appreciate your need to be careful with your money. If the deal appears "hastey", then ask yourself "Why?"
  4. They sure do Robert, the 13/23 weighs in somewhere around that figure as a petrol machine with twin rollers and a "no stress" device. Get on and try it!
  5. I see where you are coming from Lee. I don't tend to trust politicians, they see taxes as "easy come, easy go!" as they haven't had to work hard to pay those costs. They spend our taxes where they think the votes are coming from and spend their time telling us what we need and how we are going to pay for it. They then blame the previous incumbents when it goes pear shaped. They don't listen because they don't like what they hear!
  6. If it was made in 08 and only done 60hrs then the fuel may be off and there could be rubbish in the system from condensation, paint and rubber particles from hoses dengenerating. A bloody good flush, refuel and bleed should have done it.
  7. Go to the GreenMech website and check out the spec! I'm sure that our French people will run out a demo machine. If you pm your contact number to me, I'll pass it on.

    Jokes???

A thick mate is baffled by his orange penis. The doctor asks "does anyone in your family have this condition?" Mick replies "No, not at all". "Do you handle chemicals at work?", "I don't work" Mick replies. "Well what do you do all day?" the doc asks. "Watch porn and eat Wotsits!" says Mick.......

    Jokes???

Just bought the ex-wife a solar powered vibrator. Seeing as the sun shines out of her arse - it should save her a fortune in batteries!
  11. Just for you Trad Log. Yes it was an original winch fitted for the army but the crane was to be fitted to a sub-chassis with the whole lot to be used as a mobile crane. But the project stalled and she is sat in the brambles for at least 10 years so you can imagine the cab without seeing the photographs. However, a sorted cab may be available at the same site. Viewable in S Derbyshire/ N Leics.
  12. To be honest, dendrochronology is the surest way of telling the age of a woody stem. But as previously stated, the local historical records group may help with old maps, photographs and local knowledge. Try finding aerial pictures too, even google earth may help as occasionally they go back to 1945!
  13. Nice find!

    Jokes???

    get your coat:sneaky2:
  15. I climb if you are absolutely desperate, but I'm quite rough, and slow. PM for rates or general abuse. Mark, I'd heard that about you:sneaky2: Good luck with the search for work, I hope things improve.
  16. If you are after a project - I have an MK4 with mid winch and an Atlas crane in the brambles!
  17. I could do you a new GreenMech CM220 (9") and I know of a used (lightly) one too.
  18. I got the Jan issue a week or more ago - in the morning:sneaky2:
  19. The man with the most toys - wins!
  20. I thought that this was going to degenerate into a slanging match. I stated that I would not like to be the producer/maker as it does not show them in a good light. Perhaps a film of travellers doing some "good" ought to be made. But please don't show pink limo's, fairy storey carriages, fluffy dresses with lights and mullets!
  21. I did not catch the first episode and only got to watch bits of last nights. What a bizarre carryon! It is often said that Essex is the home of bad taste but those dresses were laughable! The young girls dressing and dancing in that manner was beyond the pale! To be honest, the programme does nothing but disturb - it is not a good way of showing the travelling fraternity in a good light or promote good relations with more main stream a society! Bizarre but fascinating that people carry on in that manner.
  22. That's all well and good - there ain't no substitute for horses. However, it does not improve you legal load carrying capacity.
  23. I was discussing trucks and weights etc with someone the other day and recounted the tale of a company which had a fleet of very tidy Transit's with chip box, ladder rack and tool box but could only carry 500kgs. My colleague then told me that they had a sample truck over the weighbridge with staff, lunch, all tools and so on and it actually left 45kgs or the front axle was over loaded! What a complete waste of time. Our transport laws are not really taking into account by the manufacturers it would seem. Another firm I visit will regularly run 7.5tonne lorries with 2 or 3 tonne over weight!
  24. I was unable to go due to family commitments but I would be interested if anyone wrote down the results in the catalogue. Greg says that the GreenMech went or £21k plus vat, who got it? anyone know? I wanted to go, not only as a GreenMech rep but I was going to make a bid on the garage stuff for myself - what did that lot fetch? RobsonKay do not publish their results!
  25. I would have "felt" that something was wrong if I was the driver. A slight waywardness in driving should have been apparent if they were that bad surely.
