  1. John Young at Melton Mowbray has something similar from Bandit, has been trying to sell it as he cannot find enough work it.
  2. I've not read the full run down yet on the other thread yet, but it did make me shudder..... Wallenstein come in from across the Atlantic. Everything has a place ih this world market but..... Promote the UK economy! Buy British........ Plus, what are you doing to do with it when you realise that you need a professional machine and that they are priced to work? I'm sorry, but I doubt that it will trade in at what you think it is worth!
  3. Are you looking to import this stuff or just use it? Best advice would be not to bother unless you can kick the money away! Worth nothing as a part ex on a future deal, and from what I've seen of these types, they do not comply with H&SE regs (just like those awful tractor mounted jobs on fleabay) and just do not work properly! Apply the large barge pole imo.....
  4. Snow here in north east Nottinghamshire, not a cloud in the sky and looking tad fresh!

    Jokes???

Sweet! Some of those are brilliant!
  6. Bloody Hell Ian, how did they know where you are? How did they get through that gate, past the house, past those dogs and the man in that caravan? Bloody awful for you....hope you get sorted....hope they hurt bad when their time is up!
  7. Our dealer for Kent is Godfrey's, they have depots in Sevenoaks and Hailsham. Try them for the genuine se3vice....
  8. GreenWich have fitted Superwinch winches to woodchippers for many years....electric is easier then hydraulic and cheaper too. As stated, prolonged use may cause them to shut down until cool, some remotes or wander leads have an LED to warn of this. They are fitted to assist in recovery and straight line pull and usual winch rules apply!
  9. Flat blades can break because they have over sharpened and there is not enough meat left between cutting edge and blade holes, or the rotor isn't flat or they have been "bent" over something when torqued down. That or they have tried to chip the unchippable! If blades are too hard then they can be brittle, too soft and they wear too quick....
  10. Thanks to the kind people at Fletcher-Stewart, I've the opportunity to a, get some cheap clearance stuff and b, bring along a GreenMech Arborist 130 to the event to be in a position for you to see the new offering and talk sales stuff to anyone who fancies a chat...come and see it at their place in Hazel Grove, Stockport this Friday 19th October from 09:00 onwards...
  11. Brilliant find Lee, I wonder if they dog can still ear alroight?
  12. How many other folk apart from Andy and myself still have an 090!?!
  13. I am pleased to announce that Friday 23rd November 2012 has been set as the date for our forthcoming GreenMech factory tour. The event is from 10.00am to 3.00pm and will provide you with the opportunity to have a good look around the factory plus see some of our range in action. We are really proud to be a British manufacturer of woodchippers and green waste shredders that completely fabricates its machines from start to finish. Some recent visitors to the factory admitted that they did not fully comprehend what actually goes into designing, manufacturing and assembling a woodchipper, or the pedigree of GreenMech in machinery manufacturing. Here is your chance to see how we do it! A buffet lunch will be provided so please advise us of any special dietary requirements, plus if anyone needs an overnight stay we can book you in to our local hotel (literally a stone’s throw away) at the preferential rate of £42 B&B. To secure your place, please book via a pm with names and email addresses of attendees and a confirmation will be sent out to you. Look forward to seeing you on the day.
  14. Like it....good post, that could be Scotland anytime soon... on another note, Tom's Groundy is going to have awful trouble with that bundle of rope over her shoulder - she'll never get that to run...
  15. I started out with Echo and too be honest, the twin cylinder saws never got beat, did go over to Stihl fairly quickly but did miss the twin pots!
  16. 3 pot Isuzu rated at 35hp? Can you hear the fuel pump ticking? I think that it may be an engine we use and it is fitted with an electronic pulse pump which clicks away feeding the rack. Try testing the pump.
  17. Hi Dan, you are on the list! I'll let you know what the date is in a few days. Cheers

  18. GreenMech is going to set up some Factory Tour dates. Likely to be toward the end of November and most likely on a Friday. I'll confirm exactly when in a few days. It could be from 09:30 until 16:00 or so, comprise of a meet and greet/coffee thing, introductory speech, power point presentation and discussion forum, buffet lunch, factory tour then depart after another coffee/chat. You don't have to be a GreenMech owner, it is open to everyone in the trade who wants to see how a GreenMech woodchipper is made and the manufacturing facility in Warwickshire (B49 5QG). We are saying that each date will be limited to 20 places. Please send me a pm to get on the first event.
  19. Get it made by a local fabrication company or good Agri Engineer.
  20. I should say "go back to your dealer", look in the yellow pages and go to your nearest "fastener supplier" for the bolts....Blades should be done by someone you trust, your nearest GreenMech dealer.....

    Echo cs 600

Despite not being German or Scandinavian make, I have to say that they are underrated. Best saw I had was a twin pot Echo -blinder, absolute blinder....
  22. Another bits and bobs from our past. tug n start.PDF
  23. Following on from a recent thread about factory tours etc at GreenMech, i decided to reflect on the 50 years (next spring to be precise) of manufacturing at the GreenMech factory site. We made flail mowers of different sizes for many years before Turner Engineering was amalgamated to become Bomford Turners. At that time there was a three shift set up employing some 200 people. We also made (under licence) the Turner Ranger which did win a design award and were well ahead of the game - now prized by the tractor people. We made the Elswick Envoy, a wheelchair carrier which had the bodies made by Reliant at their factory in Tamworth. We have made the small airplane tugs too. The Nickerson Turfmaster was also from this site.
  24. Phone Jeremy Smithers at Eric Hunter - or send him a pm here...
