  1. I have almost no photos and one video of the last 5 years mtb. Hours of chest cam footage but unless you've ridden the trail that's boring. Rubbish I know! Don't really bother riding in the UK anymore because the weather is crap and there are no chairlifts. So I just do 2-3 weeks abroad every year, Italy and various bits of France.
  2. I admire your thinking, wish I could bring myself to care about it much as you do. The fact is we can't even get 22 men to kick a ball round a field without mass bribery, corruption, crime and scandal.
  3. Me either having owned a HB20 for 18 months I am well used to sweating. I went to a gym once after a days work, sat in the hot tub for an hour and fell asleep.

  5. What year? I had a Puma 2.4 2007 which I sold to a friend. About 6 months later this happened to it. Don't know if it was done under warranty. I think it was just out of the three years. Coincidentally I sold it with 35000 miles so would have failed around the same time as yours.
  6. This what I am aiming for, though I would like prefer an older bigger machine than a 2450. I don't do enough grinding or need the reliability of a new one to justify £30-40k, but £15k for a tidy used machine would be ideal. Wouldn't matter if it only went out once a month if its not really depreciating any more.
  7. I grease my HB20 several times per grinding day and always when its really warm. I keep pumping to pretty much replace most of, if not all the grease. Comes out smoothly all the way round and rarely look dirtier than it went in. You do have to keep an eye on the right hand side grease nipple getting clogged as it tends to be in the dirt a lot and this make it hard to pump. No idea if greasing warm is a good idea but you drain engine oil warm so I figured its pretty much the same.
  8. I had a 2150 xp narrow with the 35hp pertol engine, wireless remote and 2wd. With the outer wheels off it would go down to 29.5inches wide. I think I paid 16000+vat, maybe a touch more. Don't know how that compares to the other makes as I never asked. I really liked it, the problem though is that at 9ft long, rear wheel steer and about 1000kg it was not really a narrow access machine. The HB20 I traded it for will do anything, almost as fast just with a lot of effort and access tight areas much easier. If I wanted a wheeled/tracked machine it would have to be 50hp minimum in order to be fast enough to justify not taking the HB20 out.
  9. There will always be a difference. I have friends with the 3.6 and 4.4tdv8 and when they are being honest they only do 18-20mpg and the 4.4v8 petrol or supercharged are at around 12-15mpg. Unless you do loads of miles it would not be a worry. I have seen 18mpg in a 4.4v8petrol but i have a very light right foot! The older 2.7td discos were good (mine would do over 30mpg) and 3.0 range rovers were 25ish, but nothing like as nice as the newer diesel engines. But mpg aside, the v8 petrols drive lurrrvely and sound fantastic.
  10. Slightly off but why not go petrol, if you want a V8 ranger rover. Car will be less as people don't seem to want to petrol models, fuel cost works out about the same and they sound awesome! Just don't get LPG, it will be a world of trouble. Land Rover Range Rover 4.2 V8 Auto Supercharged Vogue SE 66k miles FSH | eBay Also keep some budget in the bank for issues. The auto boxes go at 100-120k, electric handbrake etc etc
  11. Good Beaches = Riviera. Cant beat swimming in the Mediterranean sea at 20+ degrees in August. Also, no need for breathalyser tests on board any more.
  12. I stick with yellow. Simple reason, in the past I have had an issue with wearing orange. On some sites only the designated first aid administrators can wear Orange. We are, of course, not the sites listed first aiders and got told not to wear orange. This is only working on construction sites and for big commercial sheds so not a day to day issue for me.
  13. Surely its the fault of the manufacturer if they specify a crap axle which bends? Not the end user for simply using the chipper as it was intended.
  14. Anything they do whilst working for you, under your supervision. Regardless of whether you are on site is your problem. You could have a gentleman's agreement with the climber/cutter but if anything major happened that would mean nothing.
  15. I just bill for the plant only. i,e two days, stump grinder, chipper etc "invent any machine you want". No mention of the job spec on the invoice. Essentially just plant hire. 0% of the invoice is associated with a labour charge. Never had an issue.
  16. £17280 + Whatever deposit and document fees they haven't told you (not you, I know) about. The bigger issue really is asset depreciation. Ford Transit 350 Drw Aluminium Dropside Double Cab Tipper DIESEL MANUAL 2011/11 | eBay A three year old one is worth maybe 12-13k trade. You have paid 17k in rental and at the end see nothing. If I buy a new one at 21k and sell in three years at 13k its cost me 8k in three years. Yours has cost 17k+, that is an enormous difference.
  17. Yes to question 1 They are just different ways of skinning the same cat. Some allow a lower repayment, some guaranteed residuals, buybacks, mileage caps, varying terms, different deposits etc etc Which, in reality make no difference to your asset, its value and how much it costs you.........the main reasons to use the above are A) you can't (or don't want to) to pay for the car outright B) You cant afford to pay the deposit required I have yet to see a lease agreement or contract hire where it couldn't be done cheaper or for the same price but with less restrictions. For instance the guy who paid an extra £400 at the end of the term will have negated any other possible saving from running a lease hire on the car. Of course it may not have been the cheapest way to buy the asset in the first place.
  18. You are correct, I was replying to the guy who wanted a 4x4, didn't read the first page of the thread
  19. Easy choice. Small, cheap to run, good off road, can tow a bit etc etc nissan terrano | eBay
  20. What would the pto be for? Surely anything you wanted to add would want to be powered by the original hydraulic pump.
  21. Thanks for everyone's input. I am going to see if I can make something similar to the hand ratchet setup from Germany. I am usually happy supporting interesting businesses/products, despite the usual premium but I really can not see how that is justifiable. It will be getting on for £1000 by the time it is imported to the UK.
  22. How about a 75? Or do they have the same hydraulics.
