I have watched all of their videos and can only assume that they have a log splitter for the big stuff which will on take up to a certain length. The guy on the grapple cuts all of the timber to the same length. The videos of the camera on the loader are excellent. He knows what he is doing, raking up with a log every day without having to have a digger on site must save huge amounts of time.

Me too. Monsanto are having none of my money. You can kill woody material with glyphosate (I have done on sites where they are very strict on chemicals) I am pretty sure it is the lack of penetration into the leaves that means it takes a few goes to kill it.

I had a go with one at the APF, the last time is was at Cannock Chase. Was not terribly impressed, in comparison to the american stuff at a similar horsepower/cost. Also not sure if there is/was a radio remote option for it. Though this was over 4 years ago, I may have used a different spec machine. However it looked very nicely made and the design well considered, except it was very easy to push the machine about on the stump because of its balance/weight. Treesurgeonpoole on youtube has one. Maybe give him a call.

Try a fry up. Sounds bad for you, I find if I eat anything other than bacon and eggs my body is giving up by 10am. Fry the eggs in butter, so basically. Bacon: Protein and salt Eggs 3 or 4 is ideal scrambled: Protein Proper bread, not cheap white crap: Carbs Tomatoes/beans/mushrooms etc: I like these but the eggs and bacon are the critical bit for me. I am trying to find the article which explains how different body types require different foods. Also you can drink as much water as you like, if your breakfast is poor your body will not metabolise correctly and you will have no benefit. I prefer to go easy the water and only drink what my body tells me to. No more. I think that depends how you define "works well"! How much are they? I suppose if they are really cheap then it is viable and not worth running a dedicated grinder. One of the 13hp wheeled grinder looks similar and a 25hp push along will be a vast amount quicker. The only way I can see you can make one work well is with a dedicated engine and pump. I thought about making something that you pick up with brackets on the blade. A 30hp + engine and matching cutting head.

I have sold a LOT of stuff on ebay, mostly not tree related. But hobby bits and bobs. From £10 - £10,000 and on all of it I start the listing at what I want for the item. About 80% of the time I have agreed a price, sell, am paid and have the item posted before the auction has ended. Had a lot of people message me with negative comments because I sold and removed the item before it ended but TBH 1 guy with cash on collection is worth 10 who say they may have bid if I had left it running. This way also avoids you paying end of auction fees which saves a lot of money. I have only ever had one issue with some snowboard boots because the buyers paypal account had been used by his son in Morzine to pay for them. Paypal closed his account and froze my transaction too in case it was fraud. I didn't post them till it was all sorted. Simple. Had 3 tough looking Eastern Europeans once turn up at the house at 2am paying for some Hi-Fi kit in a white van. They were really nice guys and were over here touring the country collecting all of the stuff they had bought on ebay in the few weeks prior. Slightly scary, but he got a big wad of cash out and everyone was happy. I would never bid an item up, I have been asked to do this by mates and am not interested.

This machine is mine. I think it is great for a little chipper. Relatively easy to wheel about, though it is still over 200kg. Obviously you have to cut the brash sensibly but if you do the output it excellent. Less time trying to force bits through it the better.

They tow pretty well, friends of mine have had 3 or 4 now. All on gas, auto with various specs and engines 5 to 6.5L v8's. They are pretty bouncy with a heavy trailer on and do not to anything like as well as an amazon, discovery, shogun, range rover style truck. But the reason they sold them all was the never ending problems with the gas conversion kits. At any time at least one of them was off the road with head and valve issues to do with lubrication. They all had lubrication kits on them and the problems still arose. They all did about 30k per year towing though and the trailers went out and came back at pretty much 3.5ton with machines on (they were not used for tree work) They are also very slow, with or without a load and the auto boxes are pretty agricultural. Oh, and the brakes are not good, they were another fairly constant issue.

I had a 13/75 on hire for 3 days middle of last year because I needed it for a narrow little garden. The worst pile of turd I have ever seen. The guy loading it wanted to kill himself after about an hour. Knives were not blunt, I know this because of the amount of times I had to undo the discharge chute to clear the debris that had blocked it. Problems are they are big (wider than the greenmech, jo beau or bandit). Heavy. or the feel heavy on those stupid wheels which catch every tiny piece of debris and sink in to soft lawns. The main problem is that they don't chip! Anyway I bought this and think it is great. I owned a 13hp Jo Beau m300 several years ago, which was good. But the 18hp makes all the difference. Never tried the Greenmech as I like the Bandit stuff, but their machine is supposed to be very good too. Also I would not worry about fuel because my bandit will use twice the amount the timberwolf would, however it would chip 5 times as much. I think I get just over 1 hour out of a tank. That is roughly 5m3 of chip, however if the stuff going in is awkward that is reduced. EDIT: Forgot to add if you buy the timberwolf, make sure you get a few sets of felcos. Cause you will need them to sned the branches to get anything into it.

Common misconception It sounds like there is finance on the car, if this is the case the V5 and any other proof of ownership you want to fabricate, invoice etc are meaningless. Until the deal is settled the finance company own any asset which there is borrowing on. The worst this can screw you is if you buy a car privately, 2 weeks later repo men turn up and take the car you just bought because it has outstanding finance. There is nothing you can do other than pay the finance (essentially paying twice for the car) or lose it. There is a certain type of car seller this is very common with, not wishing to be called a xenophobe, I will refrain.

The Binderberger splitter made £4200 + VAT and TAX. The only thing that went for even close to sensible money was the Jensen Chipper, looked a really tidy machine for £5200 As for anyone paying £1000 for a used 880, unreal. Also it was really cold.

Same as me, I towed all sorts for about 5 years after I did my test at the age of 22. I failed twice on normal driving stuff, nothing to do with the trailer. Ended up costing me roughly £600. The best lesson I had was in a Ford Focus with a normal driving instructor for two hours the morning before I took the test. I still should have failed the 3rd test because I never used the handbrake when I was supposed to, but the examiner was good and told me he cold tell I was in control of the vehicle, which was nice of him. (Or maybe he was under that months pass quota, you can never tell)

I run a 35hp petrol belt drive bandit 2150, never used a 2250. Though I have seen one working and it looked quite a good machine. 45hp diesel would have a very significant advantage over your HB20. Mine is a compromise as it is narrow access (29 inch) and remote control. If I wanted a non narrow access machine it would have to be at least 45hp, diesel. Track or wheel and remote control. I am just uploading a video to youtube so you can have a look.

I would imagine over a few 12inch stumps the HB20 would be quicker. Over a day, the self propelled would be better.

Close, I am actually James Bond! Also I rang Dale Kane, gave them a spec for a custom build tipper before I ordered my Brian James. No one got back to me with any details, so obviously no deal. However their trailers are supposed to be very good.

I have one of the new Brian James tippers. Also chatted to them at the IOG Saltex show trying to get them to make a tree surgery body on a tipper with a half roof and panel sides from the factory. I think they are great, the indespension I had before towed as well but was noisy and fell to bits. I have used a lot of different Ifors, including the tippers and the new ones (in the last 5 years) the build quality is shocking. They are simply no where near as good as the Brian James. Saying that I have only very briefly seen the new style Ifor tipper, never used it (it did not look very good though) [/img].

Running three teams should be cheaper (per man, per day) than one team. Better negotiations when you want three chippers and a grinder or new trucks. Cheaper rates for training multiple people, bulk buy chain reels and oil, fuel bowser at the yard etc.

Ring bark or fell all of them, then go back in three months with a telehandler and have a monster burn up. Should get hot enough then to burn all the timber too.
