  1. Mine was a replacement for a 372 that was nothing but a pita since day one , it's a very smooth saw with very low anti vibes can't say I notice the weight at all and it's a lot lighter than the 395.. I would like a gen 2 auto tune 70cc but don't know how far away that is !
  2. Another for cougar blue 👍🏻
  3. Have been constructing a shed to dry my milled timber in , this is how far I have got ... I plan on putting an oak shingle roof on as it's free and won't cook like tin ,we busted up half a forwarding trailer of the most straightest oak I could find off the fire wood heap so hopefully have enough! My question is how would you construct the sides? Would you leave the front open ? I plan on boarding up the west and east sides and using spaced York boards for the long side and have half of the front open... So York or closed boards and what positions would you use to get a consistent drying atmosphere ?
  4. Quite like mine.. Nice blocking down saw.
  5. The Stihl chisel from memory was what was on at that time Dan... Tend not to use any thing else on my bigger toppers.
  6. I have Lasted 3 months
  7. Will this be just around London Justin , I can't really imagine doing the logistics with this gear nationwide?
  8. Your keeping in real for sure there mate nice work.
  9. Tracked chipper and big grinders are some thing we would consider renting when needed.
  10. Couple from today , the oak had a back lean towards lots of buildings so needed stripping out which took me most of the day , the lime had two thirds of its crown blow out and was deemed knackered, Like me by the end of the today !
  11. Yes it's just a fashion statement that I don't like being stuck up to my axles and having to leave a truck for the night at the back of some Wild West housing estate when I've tried to cross some grass and needed a recovery winch to get the transit and chipper out.. Or I like to make work by dragging brash and logs for miles because you can't take a transit on any thing other than asphalt.
  12. Most vans get stuck on flat grass.... I've got transits stuck on football pitches lawns, you can certainly forget about woodland rides in any thing other than the height of a dry summer.
  13. Don't agree with most of the comments.......it's just the price you pay for having a small tip on a bar is that that it will wear very fast.. I would say a solid tip wears even faster on a carving bar than one with a sprocket as well, I've ran both genuine Stihl carving and sprocket on 150 the solid rate of wear was frightening! So took it off , it also sapped power.
  14. Some SRT reductions on smallish trees today 20%ash 35% on cherry and a walnut. Problem with this SRT stuff Is I think I'm getting out of shape as it's making it all to easy ,Monday and Tuesday on spikes with big saws I could feel it trying to clamber about today !
  15. Yvonne can get you what you need for sure ! I might be imagining it but I'm pretty sure I saw them in there show room recently...
  16. That's really good to hear , is it rude to ask you how it got returned ?
  17. This is one bit of kit that you would think would resurface again.. I hope it does.
  18. No it does not deserved to be felled but on the bright side it should mill nice... On all of that I think it puts the tree officers in a very hard place when people start threatening legal action if there kids are harmed by berries!! Very sad times we live in that trees like this can't be protected but we don't make the rules.
  19. I was involved in a similar fell a few years back after the owner had young children on two occasions eat berries one of them was not hers so that was more of a scare of being sued ...also with the tree being right by the back door of the house it meant berries been trod through the house by children all the time as well!, initially my response was tell them not to eat the berries and make them take there shoes off!! But kids will be kids. The tree officer obviously didn't want the hassle so agreed on a fell. Any way the tree was lucky to have been over a 100 , it appears in late Victorian times chaining mutli stems together so they fused quickly to give the appearance of an older tree was common practice with yew as I was expecting mine to be over 300 .... I could be wrong but I imagine this tree to be a near exact situation... So to the original poster get on and fell the tree and get it milled up because if you don't and there's permission plenty of contractors will jump on it!
  20. Edit it's a cm now ! To be fair try the 357 on 3/8's I think it will make a huge difference. The 362 in your vid looks a usable saw now.
  21. It's all in the sharpening ... You can have the fastest saws in the world but if you can not get the best out of the chain there is no point. Interesting on the 362 though is it a cm model ? Also did the 357 have new rings?
  22. 😭😭 that's made my day.
  23. Long rope and base anchor set on the first tree, get the groundies to unclip or untie when you reach the third third tree and pull it back through and set another base anchor or as I would prefer a retrievable pinto tie off for the last tree. I would prefer to use a snake anchor so I'm not relying on other people tying a knot I can't see.
  24. I've gone through 3-4 trees off the first anchor SRT ,natural redirects and and throw hook make transitioning a breeze and definitely makes drt redundant in that situation for me, in fact last time I did a work climb on a double rope I had to ask for my wrench and ascenders 20 mins in to it.... I absolutely hated SRT work climbing as well for a few years.
  25. What did you go for james ?
