  1. another worrying thought is they moved a load of Nukes in to Belarus and Lukashenko has apparently last night done a bunk to turkey after a phone call with putin and amid rising tensions in Belarus…
  2. Can’t help but think one scenario is that nato intelligence are now possibly paying him 😆
  3. Will be interesting as any gains they have made seem to have been spearheaded or achieved by Wagner, the Russian army on a whole appears to have been virtually useless… I don’t know what would be more worrying though a paramilitary group running Russia or putin staying in control.
  4. Have the same winch , it’s a beast !
  5. Anything with merino in … possibly the most comfortable and coolest I’ve found for summer use , absorbs sweat, doesn’t stink like the original helly Hanson polyester base layers did and surprisingly cooler than most items as they are so thin. I did have a rab one I that I reduced to rags over two years as I wore it too much , expensive but comfortable. Failing that good old cotton farmers country shirts are a favourite for tractor work and forestry but a bit restrictive for climbing but great in emergencys for ripping off the sleeves to wipe your arse or clean up hydraulic oil that’s pissed every where.
  6. Spose in this game we should not be buying compost any ways as well rotted chip seems better.. I did get a bit carried away his year with about 3 tonne off the bottom of the pile and another 4 tonne of horse shit to find the rotavator would not start so had to improvise … last time I used the grinder as a rotavator it was mint for de stoning but messed up the soil structure… will see if the manure blend works in a few months !
  7. The whole theatre scene has always been full of those uncle Monty types … nothing new apart from some push from those trying to normalise such behaviour from high places , and they appear to be succeeding. What was interesting about schoefield was he almost got away with it when it all first came out… with every one congratulated him for coming out instead of asking questions then.
  8. The other side of that Alex is most folk my age grew up with watching him every day on children’s tv and was as much a part of our childhoods as watching saville, so I spose is why some of us have Interest in watching the nonces downfall.. I’ve never watched breakfast tv since the big breakfast ended.
  9. Keep an eye on the big dealers websites for trade ins , they will need a bit of work but I picked mine up from carsbilington, spent what it needed on brakes ect and don’t think I’ve lost anything in 8 years looking at current prices. Definitely get 4x4 for crawling out of forest ditch’s you’ll probably unintentionally find !
  10. At least FairPlay to the OP for asking the question here.. although I imagine if you where the contractor speaking to the association they would tell you they have had a call every day for the last two years three tree reports and a gas survey so please for the love of god just fell it🤣
  11. It’s a Norway maple (acer platanoides).
  12. I wonder what the conditions were for the incident if he was up the tree when it fell over and why the worker was in a tree that compromised. Thoughts to his friends and family.
  13. Who’s going to pay for the future management, you know as well as I do if you reduce that tree it will put on the growth and more to compensate within a few years if it’s reduced to any level to keep the residents happy. Having also re pollarded trees and received massive abuse for it in housing associations property’s you can be my guest… again they will have to fit the bill for continued management and listen to half the street complaining about butchering them whilst the rest complaining and petitioning to get them felled because they are scared of slipping on leaves …
  14. That’s no monster it’s barely semi mature !… it’s requests like this that made my last day contracting for local housing associations a happy one. no pruning, unless it’s raising the crown is going to benefit it , it will go absolutely crazy and be more of problem if you do so.
  15. I wasn’t there unfortunately and doubt I would ever go again to be honest…
  16. Best market I’ve found for it is chainsaw carvers.
  17. what will said almost definitely giant sequoia/ wellingtonia.
  18. Na just fake Gucci shoes and a day glow misses in Tow
  19. I think mick hit the nail on the head , stump grinding is easy money in comparison to the removal , one man and one machine… most money I’ve ever made in day was grinding stumps…. 78 conifer stumps done by 2pm with a big grinder with a blade to back fill to after it had taken four days too fell and clear them. when you think about it most landscapers struggle to do tree work efficiently I would imagine if they can’t dig it out they would come straight to a stump grinding service.
  20. Always thought this would of been a great marketing campaign..
  21. CT quickstep I keep going back too.

    Coms

I had to bin our freedconns as the newer versions would not pair with the existing sets so bite the bullet and got sennas which I don’t regret at all.
  23. Ahh, he’s seen the light then 😆
  24. Less drop when you get to negative rigging as you can take a lot more slack out on a fixed bollard.. this intern makes the whole operation smoother, once you have tried one you won’t want to go back… saying that I still have a portawrap in my light rigging kit as it’s just less hassle to set up and move about but off any serious rigging a bollard is a must.
