  4. Taken From the UKtc Tree forum primarily used by local Arbo officers If up taken by said person(s) That would be an abuse of position by a public servant imo tant amount to pre selection WaY Out of Order Quote ' I'm currently trying to promote http://www.FindTreeSurgeons.com, the directory of AA Approved Contractors and ISA Certified Arborists that consumers can search by postcode. One thing I want to try and do is get it mentioned in the local press. The local press, of course, rather likes local stories, which is where you lot come in. If you can come up with a local spin on the story of the official launch of FindTreeSurgeons.com, why not knock up a press release and send it to your local media; paid and freebie papers and local radio? To help you I've attached and example press release. You can also find some helpful information on dealing with the local media, produced by RIBA, at <http://tinyurl.com/37sn7v> Cheers Chris End Quote '

  6. Well my experience is completely different I always pay for my staffs courses & wages whilst on them The only time i've had staff leave was when it was our decision how you treat them, the conditions, then Pay,then length of employment potential, then equipment & vehicles will have a major effect on them staying loyal. well its worked for us so far at least
  7. Glad your happy mate maybe not such a grumpy sod now Eh !! LOL
  8. Lee it wont take anywhere near 10 years there isnt any Business regardless of size who can afford to sit back & hope that there wont be any change or new competition , methods of operation, there will always be ways forward You as the businessman must give direction & choose the course best suited to your plan if it wasnt for the Isa Or AA or Rfs or tcia then where would we the industry get our voice, if benchmarks such as Chas or ISo or trustmark work for you then go for it as Andy says he used his feet, however that wont change ANYTHING in any organisation, all it does is prove the dissapointment from his point of view, that the particular organisation didnt, at that time match his asperations.
  9. imo yep if the tree is causing a nuisance & the minimum required & the only way to abate the nuisance is the felling of the said tree then fell it , & inform the authority when youve done it, as the exemptions, are already in place are there for those circumstances & also from stated cases apply, Cautionary note MAKE SURE your Right as you could well end up on the wrong end of a prosecution Same theory should extend to felling dangerous if that is the least required to abate the danger Then fell it if its dangerous then it has to be imediately dangerous not dangerous to the point you have 8 weeks to prat about putting in notice / applications So if you do apply to fell a dangerous tree You Are in the same act admitting that it cant be dangerous enough ( or you as a professional should have already buzzed it !! imo

I Agree with Bob whos advised them of the current work ? offer a professional service to do a survey with programme of works / recommendations if that hasnt already been done its up to them to choose which option & then if they still want the work doing you can bid with any other contractor they may wish to ask imo
  17. think i'll put an app in to planning for a wind farm # i got the farm,,, just need more beans
  18. get a combo shredder / chipper that way it mix's the poor with better quality dual feed hoppers so two guys feed at the same time either hire or purchase hire may be the better short term if you dont generate a great volume of the poor stuff on a regular basis
  19. They may Although I doubt anything >10% retrace that said, house prices have gone up year on year some by as much as 3-4 fold in recent last 10 years so a 40k house is now over 200 k therefore 20k isnt that bad for those you have been within the housing market over 3 years + personal negative equity lock in issues will stop a flop, I believe thatmore people are locking in their mortgage for the next 2-3 yrs personally if at all the retail 'high st' may suffer But when people dont spend at the shops or on a holiday they still believe that bricks & mortar are a good long term investment therefore we may see a return to a landscaping / garden makeover phase
  20. although they dont tell you that they'd rather chase a big fish than a little one (value for money or some such notion)
