  5. fair point I dont know wether I do my self any favours really when I enter those AA type debates , I do see the same problems as yourself, I'm just to gobby for my own good ( its my yorkshire trates creeping to the fore ) .. it would be interesting to see a joined up industry though , although I wonder if to much has gone before for the AA to pull it off . hope not but ... eh
  6. there was an enightening post from a TO who said that whilst employed in his role he often looked at practioners & thought bet he could do my job, he realised that he may not be able to recipricate. letters after your name are important however if we all just talked about great tree work without being able to carry out the task Shag all would get done

  17. the irony of it is my Wife has on her licence the abilty to drive upto 7.5tonner & a car + trailer GOD FORBID just because some numpty decides that Wallop 'after jan 97' any new licence holder cannot do the same do they honestly think that we The business community are going to let lose some 'half wit' Pleb with a £20 K chipper thats Not Bloody likely! now is it ? I really Really am fed up of this nanny mentallity they must BACK OFF or this country will go down !!!! there will just be the inbreed day time tv watchers left & the politians & do gooders giving them a cuddle ...
  18. John thats just the start of it how about the Tacho restrictions 3.5t needs a tacho if pulling a trailer although exemptions are in place ie 50k from normal base of operation Seems utterly pointless to me It appears to me the methodoligy is to manage / monitor Drivers hours etc, as a tacho records driver hours & speed , However if yo unhitch the trailer you then dont need the tacho so you can easily break drivers limits if you wished yet another example of tinkering about without having a clue !!! costing a fortune without acheiving SOD ALL Typical Meanwhile !!! back in the real world we have to try to continue to offer a valuable service offering a secure & safe enviroment for our staff & pay a living wage etc etc , I honestly dont know quite where this is going but sooner or later the government is goning to push us over the edge !! financially or socially something is going to give diesel prices at all time Highs , expenditure & infrastucture costs W@height loler, hse, towing, insurance hikes, min wage, emp pensions, the list goes on & on if this were France: they'd be in the streets screaming for someones head on a pike. I need some Coffee now
  19. Hello John you can just book a test , hoewever Dont get me started on this one in breif sent a driver for a b+E to the DSA for the third time 1st he failed fair do's 2nd the vehicle needed a beep fitted for the trailer indicators Annoyed 3rd examiner Refused t otakethe test becuase === the chipper wasnt a horsebox ==== Well bugger me backwards I'd didnt see that coming Exactly the same driver vehicle & chipper each time what a bunch of numptys rgds Iain
