  1. I have this radical technique for accesing the outer crown. Its called climbing. Outlandish, I know, but hey, I'm a bit mental me.
  2. I had a TP 200 with a 50hp hatz, excellent little chipper.
  3. Sorry Mate, I hate my little Jensen.
  4. TP are good, but not in the same league as schliesing.
  5. Anybody can build a straight line wall with that kind of slabby gritstone. You should try walling with the stone we have out here. Its like trying to build a wall with sheeps heads. Personally Dean, you should have told him to stuff his wall, after driving all that way in the snow.
  6. go on then Tom, how much for the 2?
  7. What is a free blow automatic????
  8. Reminds me of schrodingers cat, although Schrodinger was wrong when he postulated that the cat has 2 states of existence. I know he was wrong because when I tried his experiment on our cat, he had 3 states of being - dead, alive and bloody furious. Ever seen a cat in a box go off like a claymore mine? Think I'll stick to Pavlovian responses in dog's. I ring the bell, and the dog eats a strawberry ice cream.
  9. Not very interesting parties either!
  10. If that 45 was easily uprated to a 10 tonne GVW it would be a great truck.
  11. I think I even know the exact machine under question Is it Donal Roe's machine?
  12. I was'nt looking. I was told by someone with local knowledge

    Happy days

    Know anyone whose selling one?
  14. I would buy them if they were closer. £4 a tonne to the landowner, but he'd have to accept me tracking an excavator round, a burn pit, and an 8 wheeler coming accros the field. The only other worry is that area is all sand, so the oak will be full of ring shake. Only good for firewood really.
  15. Ooops, I feel a proper thicko now as I had that 222 on my watching list from the moment it came up...:blushing: But hooray for wood picker and glad you got your chipper back...

    Happy days

I wonder for who's benefit this thread is intended?
  17. The MOG OF DOOM strikes again!
  18. Nice work Mick. Looked like a good day for it.
  19. Kevin, I suspect that no matter what the members of this forum said to object to the changes, it would make precious little difference to the outcome. The powers that be should be telling the government to piss off with there continued efforts to throttle industry with yet more red tape. Still I suppose it makes more work for pen pushers and has beans.. I once heard the saying ' those that can't, teach'. I am now going to go out of my way to organize FREE refresher training.
  20. Both the above ideas are long invented Promark / Ariens / Gravely had the leaf hoover tube and the bagging cyclone attachment back in the '80's. Like the input tho guys. How about I build my new chipper incorporating all these features?
  21. I like to think its a select group...
  22. But now your back! (cue much rejoicing in the peanut gallery)
  23. I wonder what would happen to the industry if all the people required to do refreshers boycotted the scheme? It seems to me that we all moan a lot about this kind of thing, but never really resist it. I suppose that the big companies would implement it, leaving them the only ones qualified to undertake any works, and the little guys would loose all work. HOWEVER... I have a plan. Arbtalk has been a great way of getting people together at meets round the country. how about we arrange meets and lay on refresher training? I't would be fairly easy to arrange a programme and facilities, and nominate someone to do the actual training. I could arrange several sites for climbing and felling on my doorstep, and we could approach it with the usuall cameraderie and enjoyment of a meet.
  24. Ben, I should have told you to get us to fit a new no stress clock when we fitted the engine. We can retro fit the US made LOR tacho's, which alow you to programme the clock to your own needs. Is the solenoid valve fitted to your machine?
  25. Oh well, I was only 1 ft out. I think a few of us guessed very close...
