Shame your not near me ross, I would definately have work for you.
  4. I had a U1700AG, the air system gave me endless frustration. Probably down to zero maintainence on the previous owners part. To be fair, in 12 months it never let me down, but it used to leak air, oil, water and hydraulic fluid everywhere we went.
  5. Dont wear trainers.
  6. I'm deeply hurt that you think my chip truck was a bin lorry:sad: It was built that way as I always liked the look of american chip trucks.
  7. Ditto. Chipbox AND the toolbox are to big. Stevie, Unimogs have some great points, but their main downfall is their rarity, meaning old clapped out ones command high money, and decent ones are silly silly prices. They are also too complex, so breakdowns are common and expensive, and to small to operate as a serious truck. I might buy one again for utility work, but for its compactness in working on tight lanes.
  8. My problem is always comparing the Films to the books. The latest 2 films storyline, characters and feel followed the taste of the books much better than any of the older films.
  9. boo hiss! QofS is quintessential bond, distilled and sharp on the palate like 150 proof spirits.
  10. That was indeed the Bond family motto, as explained by Sable Basilisk at the collage of heraldry. (how the flip do I remember this useless stuff?) Great book, and not a bad film either. Lazenby made quite a passable Bond. Daniel Craig has captured the gritty nasty feel of the original bond character quite well. The books are well worth a read if you remember that they were pulp fiction, not literary classics. They give a great snapshot of the postwar world, and bonds increasing discomfort with it.
  11. Calculate the number of staff on a job, and you'll find the actual man hours at hieght are significantly lower than 50%. My policy with them specifically states Tree Surgery, not landscaping.
  12. For you eyes only was the best of the Roger Moore films. It was based on the Fleming book, which was a collection of 5 short Bond stories, one of which was.... 'Quantum of Solace' I'm such a bond saddo:001_smile: Do like that DMM crab though.

OK, I'll clarify, If its a whacking great big tree, I will ride the ball up to the choker point, attach slings, drop down to cutting point, sever, and wait. Being as it takes seconds to rope round the hook and ride up, I cant see it wasting much time... I also have multiple slings, so the lads unhook the slings and slip a fresh one on before trying to free them off the stem. I've done a lot of crane jobs over the years, and never been called slow

    Eh?
  16. I always ride the ball up. I'm paying for the damn crane, I'll ride the ball if I feel like it.

Seriously Reg? You climb up every time? Not me. I'm paying for the crane, might as well use it. I also rope off the ball for attaching straps to long laterals.

Smooth and stylish as ever Reg. Nice choice of tune too. Do you ride the ball up each time to attach the straps?
  19. Well if were comparing... My FL10 Volvo has the same tractive power as a mog and trailer (8x4, except my traction is under the weight where its needed), carries an 18 tonne metre crane, has a payload of 18 tonnes, returns 10 mpg, has 340hp and costs next to nothing in repairs and running. It costs £550 a year to insure and £600 a year to tax. I've owned unimogs, and consider them to be vastly over-rated and overpriced. They do have their uses and place, but at a very steep cost. If you want to pay the cost, fine, but for the cost of a decent mog, I have a 32t truck and crane, a 7.5t truck, a 12" chipper and a couple of pickups. Stevie, if your convinced mogs are so wonderfull, why do you try to palm yours off at every opportunity?
  20. Having used all three, I would choose a Jenz over a dopstadt or vermeer tub any day.
  21. Sounds like a plan! http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&q=Caminito+del+Rey,+29550,+Ardales,+Malaga,+Andalusia,+Spain&sll=37.004746,-3.916626&sspn=0.615238,1.319733&ie=UTF8&cd=1&geocode=FXlKMwIdViy3_w&split=0&ll=36.947697,-4.772186&spn=0.582774,1.319733&t=h&z=10&iwloc=addr
  22. I can carry 18 tonnes on my truck. Your looking at about £35 a tonne delivered.
  23. About an hour from Malaga. If you search for camino Del Ray on google, it'll give you the location and details. I'm planning on doing it this year sometime.
  24. I thought that was a 700 nitro express rifle...?
  25. How much do you want?
