You dont dean, trust me. A guy I know nearby bought one and has had endless extremely expensive troubles with it. Worst thing is, it weighs 14 tonnes and only has a little 4 pot perkins to power it.

Mogs are crap. Crappity crappity crap. not a tractor, nor a truck, and not as good at either job. I dont want one machine that does everything - I like having lots of kit that I can utilise in different ways.
  6. Mine had a Dana.
  7. I had a mk5 county transit, SWB van with the turbo engine and IFS. Was superb offroad, easy onroad, slightly thirsty and generaly brilliant compared to a Landrover. Wish I'd never sold it. Only problem was after 2 long runs up to Scotland, it cracked the bellhousing on the gearbox. Had to have a new gearbox casing, which was a labour intensive job for my fitter. few months later, after a trip to cornwall and back, it cracked in exactly the same place. I think that they are quite prone to vibration from the transfer box. SHame really as apart from that, they are superb.
  8. Ah, now I know what the missing PM's were about I'll have a peek under my Patrol tomorrow.

    Watchmen

Just saw watchmen at the cinema. Words fail me in describing quite how good this film was. As a big fan of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons original graphic novel, (and in expectation of it being usuall hollywood shite) I was stunned at how faithfully they stuck to the original. Its graphicly violent, full of brutal fight scenes, sexy (silk spectre in her kinky boots!) dark, bleak, grim and complex. Hurrah for comics!
  10. Very Sad News. My deepest sympathies and condolances to his family.
  11. Mr Riding is extremely busy at the moment. It might take a day or two for him to reply.
  12. You might find the firewood price is better than the sawlogs price...
  13. Very neat little engineering solution Reg. I hope this works out well for you, I imagine its going to be very popular. I'm certainly going to buy one.
  14. I did contemplate buying a Yank bucket truck for a while, but mainly a material handler type, as they have a crane built into the boom. I prefer the US type booms to the fimsy spiderlifts, as they have greater side reach, and the tiny little 'bucket' is a cinch to squeeze into the crown of a tree. That 'steves industries' site is a good laugh. Fair play to he man, looks like he keeps busy.
  15. Nice work Butch. Love your yank Boom Trucks!
  16. My Local NFU office give stunningly good quotes and will give full cover for treework. They just insured Peters new 18 tonne truck at a really good price, and covered my new 8 wheeler with just a phone call at a price that I could'nt believe!
  17. I prefered the story about the theft of your car.
  18. And...?
  19. Zen. And the art of chainsaw tuning.
  20. Give Peter a PM. I'm sure he'd do it.
  21. Huge bollocks. Ego to match. Endless supply of rolly's and / or coffee. Tuned up noisy MS200. 'She'll be right Bruce' attitude towards minor damage.
  22. about 7 seconds, as I've slowed down in the last few years.
  23. How much would I pay for a 2005 TW tracked with 700 hours on?
  24. I have a folding hopper on mine. I bought it cause it came at the right price when I needed a little rinky dink tracked chipper, but its the smallest chipper I've owned.
