  1. Again I think you missed the point, the TO didn't say all Leylandii are suburban, just the ones in question. You have extrapolated a sweeping statement from a very specific statement, and misused it to make a sweeping statement of your own that has nothing to do with the subject of the OP. 2. Highly unlikely in your part of the world, from what I'v heard.
  3. They havent excluded it from protection, they are justifying their reasons for not making a TPO. Personally I'm glad that tree officers have better things to do than make TPOs on Leylandii.
  4. I reckon you'd struggle to overload my 18 tonner with chip. Does the fact your truck is always overloaded not bother you?
  5. Peter

    Eco Plugs

Very effective when used as per instructions. Not cheap though, I only use them if there is a good reason to use them over a liquid poison.
  6. Another test they apply, if my memory serves me correctly, is whether you can send someone else in your place. Ie a genuine subcontractor should be able to substitute workers, and also whether it is your decision to work certain days or hours, or the employers.
  7. There is no single test of self employment. If you do the same days or hours regularly, then you should be paye, and if the majority of your time is spent working for one firm you should be on paye. You may well get away with it, and it is your employer who will have problems with hmrc anyway. They are tightening up with the introduction of rti, so it probably won't be long before they crack down on "self employed" workers. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  8. Not sure, I was just the tree killing machine in those days. LA owned trees, public space. Mixed reactions from the general public. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  9. Ok I'll correct that. The mini chipper will comfortably fill your trailer once a day, more if your a masochist. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  10. Just above the original pollard, so aiming to recreate the original head. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  11. A mini chipper will fill your trailer in a day, a good tow behind will fill it 5-6 times in a day. If your mostly doing small jobs then buy the GM or the JB, it will easily pay for itself, and if you find you need more chipping power in a few months or a year buy something bigger. There is always a market for secondhand machines.
  12. I may be able to help, give me a ring tomorrow 07875 386674.
  13. To answer the original question, I find Euc to be pretty reliable in the hinge department, so long as its knot and decay free.
  14. Also Tesco and Eddie Stobart have a good OCS, and a team of crack lawyers on staff to deal with potential prosecutions.
  15. DB is a little confusing at first, you just have to follow the instructions to the letter and it suddenly all comes together.
  16. I dont think I'd climb on it.....
  17. Get someone to do it. Horrible horrible work, especially if you dont have the right kit.
  18. I have repollarded lapsed Limes, at a guess 20-30 years of growth 40-50 feet tall and up to 12" diameter, and they all thrived afterwards. Not done a Plane in a similar situation though.
  19. Planning for polytunnels depends on intended use, ag or hort no, drying logs maybe.
  20. I have just the 12' and I manage most hedges with them. Biggest is 16' I think.
  21. I found those pretty good on the slippy stuff, I think it's the traction control, they don't wheelspin unless all four wheels loose traction. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  22. Personally, I think they should make the restricted o licence simpler, but extend it to include 3.5 tonners. That way everyone would be on a level playing field and 3.5 tonners would be a lot safer. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  23. Whittle it away with the polesaw and be ready to run!
  24. My experience of these sales is that everything goes for near enough its new price, and sometimes a bit more.
  25. Just get your mum to drive you to work then!
