  2. Aluminium plank is probably the easiest stuff to use, but its not cheap. If you use ally sheet then 2mm minimum really, anything less will just get bashed. Ideally get a fabricator to fold a profile up for you. As for corrosion, there are plenty of ali truck bodies on the road.
  3. Unless there is any reference to BS3998, I can't see how they can object to whatever you do.
  4. The current ranger is huge, good payload, and if you get the 3.2, lots of grunt. The Isuzu dmax is pretty impressive for a normal sized pickup. I have a navara, been an excellent truck and gets worked hard too.
  5. That blue hairy stuff that comes on big reels?
  6. Woman locked in kitchen. Sorry, dont really see the problem here.

  8. YouTube is your friend. You get an idea of what's involved anyway, and decide if you want to take it further.
  9. Thurlow Nunn Standen or Pecks are the nearest to me.
  10. They look good, do you know how much the unit costs to buy?
  11. That's interesting, the last time I was looking (about 3 years ago) the only one readily available was liros herkules, and certainly no 6 mm cords. Personally don't think I'd feel comfortable on less than 10mm for access line, might go less on a lanyard, but less than 11 as a climbing line is very uncomfortable.
  12. Have you done much roasting? It is straightforward, you do need to calculate the cooking time properly to get it right. I do the three step method, a short hot sizzle, a longer cook at a lower temp, and then a proper rest. That gives you time to finish the roast potatoes and Yorkshire puds, cook the veggies and make the gravy.
  13. Imagine if you will 4 rib eye steaks stuck together, all roasted in one piece. Caramelised crunchy crusty bits on the outside, merging into flavoursome just cooked through and then still pink in the middle. Bloody amazing. A good quality fore rib roast will set you back around £50 though....
  14. I used to eat rib-eye steak, then I found out about fore-rib roasting joints.....
  15. Is there a reason? A lot of these "rules" are just plucked out of the air. Why 22kN? Which 8 and 6mm cords are 22kN btw?
  16. I buy all our beef from these guys. Camcattle
  17. Yes. The MBS should be a minimum of 22kN.
  18. There is no such thing as medium steak, there are only two ways of cooking a steak, rare or well done. You can tell the waiter whatever you want, when it gets to the kitchen there are only 2 options. If its pink in the middle it's rare, if its cooked all the way through its well done. If you want it well done seal both sides and the edges in a really hot pan, then either move it to a cooler pan or finish it in the oven. Rare is the the hot pan bit but no finishing.
  19. Ropes should be a minimum of 10mm diameter. Friction cord should be a minimum of 8mm diameter, but a minimum of 10mm is recommended for normal commercial use.
  20. I think you mean WLL.
  21. Those safety factors only apply if the manufacturer hasn't specified a SF.
  22. Oakhams Jeffrey Hudson Bitter atm. Lots of really good bottled ales around though.
  23. Have you tried Dane at Brampton Valley Training?

Have you ever thought about lining the bed with a tarp, then when it's time to empty it tie the tarp to a tree and drive away?
  25. Not really no. I use the exhaust for that.
