  1. Have you done much roasting? It is straightforward, you do need to calculate the cooking time properly to get it right. I do the three step method, a short hot sizzle, a longer cook at a lower temp, and then a proper rest. That gives you time to finish the roast potatoes and Yorkshire puds, cook the veggies and make the gravy.
  2. Imagine if you will 4 rib eye steaks stuck together, all roasted in one piece. Caramelised crunchy crusty bits on the outside, merging into flavoursome just cooked through and then still pink in the middle. Bloody amazing. A good quality fore rib roast will set you back around £50 though....
  3. I used to eat rib-eye steak, then I found out about fore-rib roasting joints.....
  4. Is there a reason? A lot of these "rules" are just plucked out of the air. Why 22kN? Which 8 and 6mm cords are 22kN btw?
  5. Same here, except I have a Lifeproof case.
  6. I buy all our beef from these guys. Camcattle
  7. Yes. The MBS should be a minimum of 22kN.
  8. There is no such thing as medium steak, there are only two ways of cooking a steak, rare or well done. You can tell the waiter whatever you want, when it gets to the kitchen there are only 2 options. If its pink in the middle it's rare, if its cooked all the way through its well done. If you want it well done seal both sides and the edges in a really hot pan, then either move it to a cooler pan or finish it in the oven. Rare is the the hot pan bit but no finishing.
  9. Ropes should be a minimum of 10mm diameter. Friction cord should be a minimum of 8mm diameter, but a minimum of 10mm is recommended for normal commercial use.
  10. I think you mean WLL.
  11. Those safety factors only apply if the manufacturer hasn't specified a SF.
  12. Oakhams Jeffrey Hudson Bitter atm. Lots of really good bottled ales around though.
  13. Have you tried Dane at Brampton Valley Training?

Have you ever thought about lining the bed with a tarp, then when it's time to empty it tie the tarp to a tree and drive away?
  15. Not really no. I use the exhaust for that.
  16. No problems with mine, had it over a year now. Hopefully yours is an isolated case and they will get it sorted soon, sounds frustrating.
  17. Engine sounds a bit crap.
  18. Yes, if its not on the Ropetek website then email them.
  19. QB is good, but really pricey for what it is. I use EasyBooks, but its Mac only.
  20. I can sort you out a 9 tonne(s) load of unseasoned unprocessed, delivered to you price depending on location. PM or ring if your interested 07875 386674 Peter
  21. Like any investment in kit, you have to weigh up time saved v cost. If it only takes 2 minutes to unload by hand then you are unlikely to recoup your outlay in the working life of the tipper conversion. I'm glad the days of shovelling chip are over for me, will probably extend my working life too as shovelling really makes my back ache!
  22. Just out of interest, how many tirfors do you keep in your climbing bag? Lots of tree gear is built from components already available, GRCS, most harnesses, ropes, carabiners, trango cinch, all borrowed from other industries. This is starting to change as Arb becomes a bigger market in its own right, but until there is a market for many thousands of a particular item it won't be built from scratch.
  23. I'll make sure I bring an indelible marker pen. Would you prefer handlebar or toothbrush?
  24. Save me a seat at the back.
  25. I do a fair bit of composting wood chip in my garden. All the above info is excellent, the only thing I would add is that you need lignin (woody stuff) to make humus, the rich dark part of the soil that plants love. Lignin needs lots of nitrogen to feed the bacteria to break it down, so adding green (grass clippings etc) or artificial nitrogen fertiliser is a must. You can easily check the pH of your mulch before you use it, if you want to bring it up a bit add garden lime.
