  1. Good stuff, and about time the Arb Approved scheme got that kind of status. Congratulations to everyone involved, must have been a lot of work.
  2. Last ones.
  3. A client very kindly sent me some photos they took of some tree work we carried out in their garden.
  4. Give Nikki King a call, managing director of Isuzu UK. 01707 282933
  5. Shame she spelt your name wrong eh?!
  6. As a contractor, I found the day both informative and relevant to my work. I do get asked about p&d by clients, and it does help to set you apart from other contractors if you can give an informed answer, and know where to go for help if you can't diagnose on your own. I did miss a few minutes after lunch owing to the excellent catering and the warm dark room. That's my excuse anyway. It did highlight the pace of change, books that were published a few years ago already missing very important pests and diseases, and the regulations concerning bio security and notifiable p&d seem to change all the time, so keeping up to date is important.
  7. Fairies dont like big butts?!
  8. I think you'll find that Stihl policy dictates that all saws are handed over to the customer in person. Have you tried your local dealer?
  9. You can buy hardheads direct from beaver state plastics, been using them for a while now and they are very good. Not tried the k & h though. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  10. Did you consider felling the stem at 15 foot, then lifting the chunks off the ground so the crane wasnt totally committed to the lift?
  11. You'll be knitting your own slings next.
  12. Its not really your problem is it though? Unless its your local? The options are either prune the tree and hope the paperwork goes through, or wait for the paperwork, I'd be amazed if they process any quicker than three weeks.
  13. Its called Operator Compliance Score, and you have to contact VOSA directly to find out what yours is.
  14. A klemheist will struggle to grip on a single line. If you really want to use a single line invest in some srt gear, otherwise use the single line to pull up a doubled line. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
  15. Really? The offence is driving without a licence, easy conviction for VOSA and can lead to an immediate ban.
  16. Spot on jrose. Treebloke the link you posted is referring to overhang on the vehicle itself not the load. FWIW the maximum overhang to the sides of the vehicle is 305mm, without getting into police escorts etc.
  17. Once you get on it changes your whole outlook on tree work. I hardly ever use casual labour on a long drag or for carrying logs anymore, and the loader never rings in sick or gets tired after lunch.
  18. The mewp was a bit short, it was a 2 day job and the mewp was only there for one day, and Jerry Baranek was in the mewp taking photos.
  19. Asia economy corned beef had traces of Bute in it.
  20. Yeah, can't see any obvious skid marks though.
  21. Very nice Rich, although I have to say I'm slightly disappointed with the choice of colour for the whipping, I think dark green to match the fleck would really have set it off nicely.
  22. Thats (partly) why I dont buy meat from supermarkets.
  23. Pretty good turn out last year, now there is only one ISA event its a bit more concentrated.
  24. Service Metals, from memory around £70 plus vat for a 6.4 metre 150mm wide plank.
  25. How did he get down there and stay there without sliding right in? Good effort on the recovery.
