George monbiot used to turn up to environmental actions in the ninety and try to hijack them for his cause.
Another posh,self publicising,twat.
Reminds me of Russell brand.

I was gonna give it to my neighbour and see what she made of his opinion on sheep and reintroducing lynx but had second thoughts.. he has some interesting ideas but you can’t wipe out a whole way of life for folk because you don’t like it.. I also think conifer forest has a lot more benefits than he gives credit for.

Didn't they want to re introduce Lynx in your area at one time Matty? Kielder Forest?

How did that go down with the locals?

It didn’t unless they have done it quietly ... living in the forest I’m pretty sure our sheep would get it first but there are quite a few farms more remote than us , not that I’m bothered they seem to want to die anyway with out the lynx there.. we have taken them off entirely off one side slope as the generator shed kept flooding as they grazed it to nothing , might give some of the scotts pine a chance to naturally regenerate.
I know all the local farmers opposed it though.

A friend of mine who is shepherd , said the lynx were killed off for a reason.

this is taken from Wikipedia

It will feed however on whatever animal appears easiest, as it is an opportunistic predator much like its cousins.[12]
