I don't follow the coronavirus news much, the last I heard they were saying that either didn't work, or wasn't reliable?

Antigen test has 30% false negative rate. Antibody test more reliable but no bugger know if this translates to immunity and if it does, for how long. I might be susceptible to a fresh infection now, in a few months or never.

Not just about control at all but the. Response and subsequent levels of control imparted upon people are totally disproportionate to the effects of the virus. I’m on a job with two 16 man teams and no one on here knows anyone personally whom has died from the virus. Power is addictive to politicians whom like nothing better than to tell you how to live your life etc. We live in a world of preventable diseases and always have done, no one gives a shit about many of the other diseases or indeed common flu that kills thousands every year. The mental health and financial stresses being placed upon people and the long term effects on kids are yet to be realised. Regards Covid 19 it’s like the lunatics have taken over the asylum. Shield the vulnerable if they want it, let the rest get on with life if you don’t feel safe stay at home ?‍♂️Wtf kind of existence is it with politicians telling you literally when and where you can do the even the most natural of things. I guess time might tell but judging by past lies ie WMD with Blair don’t expect the truth to be recognised by those in power. I’m no conspiracy theorist or claim to know everything but there is growing evidence to go against the media hysteria unfortunately it will never make the mainstream news. The ire of the person with the preventable illness ???? Really Look at the numbers and the recovered statistics etc etc not just the headline grabbing infection statistics, Nature calls the shots in reality, What about the ire of the person who has lost everything they have worked for for 35yrs due to ludicrous Government over reaction.

A few of my cousins co workers had it, one died from it (age46) another now has to have dialysis due to shot kidneys (age 51).

There isnt much that can be about a lot of disease as they are already well established hence the big push to try and control this one,  but, social distancing and wearing a mask will no doubt slow down the spread of say the flu, common cold etc this year.

A huge problem no doubt but better that than dead, or dealing with the grieving of lost loved ones.

Well the odds of what you are describing ref the amount of people you know and yourself etc who have had it are way off the national experience, god knows how you managed to be around so many positive cases.

bollocks to wearing a mask or social distancing just to prevent even a common cold or the flu what kind of pathetic existence is that. There is loads that can be done about many of the diseases out there far worse than Covid 19, none of them have caused the international paralysis or got the media hype this has.

The thing is the vast majority do not die or even show symptoms so the logic of better than dead is total and utter rubbish. Very easy to say but way different to deal with in reality.

life goes on bud, We have to work with it or around this just as humans have done for thousands of years.

sorry, but being relatively new here i don't know what is a piss take and what is serious. Granted the government response has been less than perfect but is anybody here seriously saying this is just an exercise in government control?

those chem trails must be working.

i know several people who have died from covid. i had it mildly at the start but still have no sense of smell. i'm mid 50s.

i can just imagine the ire of someone who has suffered from a preventable illness against the know it all conspiracy theorists

Well I guess I fit into the Piss Take and 'Chem Trail' then. Did you get a certificate to confirm you had it or is it just an assumption?

OOO! Can you get a certificate, I want one!

Yip, at least here in Norway you can. :)  Surely the UK is not that far behind the times? As mentioned in another post if you are proven to have the anti-bodies you get a 6 month pass into Norway without any further checks.

Its in 'Norwegian English';

    • Personnel travelling for work from Schengen / EEA countries to Norway can be exempted from quarantine rules if they can provide two negative Covid-19 tests taken after arrival to Norway (the second test shall be taken no earlier than 48 hours after the first, and no earlier than day 5 after arrival). Personnel can be allowed to work after the first negative test, but shall keep quarantine in their spare time. For detailed guidelines please contact your Equinor company representative.
  • People who, by approved laboratory method, can document that they have had Covid-19 in the past six months, are exempted from quarantine.
