Cheers for the reply. Sounds like your experience was equally as nasty and terrifying. I’m going to have a mess about with the positioning of the Logbullet on the trailer. See what’s happening. One thing I am looking at now is getting updated and stiff suspension that also raises the ride height by about an inch and half. This might also help the tow bar positioning issue I am having too.

Seriously amazed at how mechanised ( and how much 'back is taken out of a job) tree works can become with all these fantastic designs. K

@IronMike what is your shoguns hitch height without trailer attached.

IIRC 19" for 2.6t trailers and 21" for 3.5t. You see lots of vans with the trailer very nose down and back trailers wheels in the air as hitch needs to be low to open back doors, not a nice combination.

What height should my towing hitch be on my towing vehicle?

The correct hitch height of the towing vehicle is critical when towing a trailer. The correct hitch height should leave your trailer level when hitched on. If the hitch height is not correct this can cause your trailer to sway which can lead to loss of control of your vehicle and trailer. Usually swaying will occur when you exceed 40 / 50kph. Another effect of towing your trailer at the incorrect hitch height is uneven tyre wear. If the trailer is not level, the front or rear tyres may wear excessively due to loads not being evenly dispersed. For most Ifor Williams trailers the correct hitch height should be between 485mm (19”) and 535mm (21”) depending on the trailer and the type of wheel equipment fitted. All your weight is towards front of trailer, looks like you could move it back a bit but still may not make much of a difference. Or even back it on.

Cheers for the advice all, will get the measuring stick out today and see where tow bar sits. 
 

I have had quotes from a few firms for new suspension set up, so will likely be ordering that soon too. Will probably go for a lift all round too. I’m also looking into options for a new tow bar, one that’s adjustable like Mick has linked too. Thankfully I don’t have any long journeys coming up any time soon, everything is local so problem is nullified.
