He’s blown it.

Gambled on a fait accompli, now it’s just a matter of what kind of defeat he wants.

Walked straight into America/NATOs hands.

America (and other western powers) don’t care how long the war lasts, longer the better.

I he's fooked.

In regards to defeat I guess that's probably the main worry, no full blown nuclear war but maybe he will just use a few tactical ones in Ukraine to level the place. It's not like it's going to rewind 3 months if he just pulls out tomorrow.

Its probably just going to be Russia's Afghanistan for the next 20 years or until at least someone takes him out.

There's always someone profiteering from a crisis. It probably dates back tens of thousands of years when the rains didn't come. The village shaman probably made a good few quid in those years.

It's clear to see that many people still believe that the shaman causes the drought.

Just for the record it's not like I upped my day rate when a storm came in, like.

Btw.

I saw, somewhere today,  that there is now a glut of  natural gas in the UK, and that wholesale prices are back to pre-cris levels!

That's handy !

I wonder if the plan is to extend the war, the longer the wat the more time for sanctions to bite and hte more cash he has to spend on munitions etc.  Then hope that the Russian population get so fed up with the hardship that they have to put up with as a result that they get rid of him.  Trouble is that if he sees that coming, that is when he might do something stupid.
