From the 20th sept you cant take a BE test but the law will not change till later inthe year.

 

Plus when it does you still need BE on licence so will have to apply for it. With  dvla back log that will take time.

When the law changes, you’ll be allowed to tow trailers up to 3,500kg MAM if you passed your car driving test from 1 January 1997.

DVLA will update your driving licence record to show that you’re allowed to tow trailers. You’ll get category BE added to your driving licence when you get a new photocard driving licence.

You do not need to contact DVLA for this to happen. It will be done automatically.

I think you are wrong on both counts .... it is much more complex than that !!

Will this kill your training business stone dead or are you expecting firms still to send people for training?

I should think for insurance purposes business will need drivers with a certified ticket. Bit like having a cscs card in construction.

I doubt it. A cscs card is just a health and safety training scheme. If it's on your licence why would you need training.
