I have a fairly large Holme oak I am removing next week in Huntington, Cambridgeshire.

Is the wood any good?

Anyone interested in it?

I'll put a pic of the tree...if anyone interested pm me and I'll send some pics of the wood once it's down...

Very beautiful timber.  BUT very troublesome to dry, never straight, and cracks badly.  I would take it off your hands, but I am too far away from you sadly.

Just now, PoyntonSteve said:

Ask your lical scout group they should want it

Splits and shakes like a goodun as it drys out . Not a problem if its fire wood . Burns a bit like coal incidentally . I love it .

It’s hard to cut, hard on climbing kit and hands as the bark is rough, bloody heavy, hard to split, crap to dry with out splitting and twisting if milled. On top of that it’s an invasive weed that’s taking over down here ?

It also Copices easy.

If you hadn’t guessed I’m not a fan on them, the only good thing is they are generally solid enough to rig big lumps off

here is some further reading about the horrible stuff.
