When I was P.A.Y.E I was having to pay in over £3000 a year in N.I. I now pay £2.60 a week. :D In my eyes its only right that PAYE are looked after, they get shafted every which way normally.

Why so low? My NI are 9% of my profit. Certainly isn’t £2.60 a week!

ahh your talking about Class 2 contributions- not sure what the state pension entitlement are if your only paying class 2?

Im Voluntary Class 2.

Lots to write off when self employed, as Im sure you're well aware. 'Profits' can be very low if you have a good accountant. No such perks or loop holes for PAYE.

Seems like there’s plenty of government money to be handed out to the p.a.y. e. employees who get the virus, but if we get it or when we have lock down, I think we (the self employed) can look forward to nothing except seeing what the inside of our houses look like during daylight hours.

Government money, what's that?

Went into Town last night, mostly empty. Taxi flew thru minimal traffic. Restaurants nearly empty. Club was good. But you wonder how long  businesses will stand this. Off to Lidls  now for some panic buying Moet n Chandon. K

It's that money you paid them as income tax and NI contributions so they can give it to good causes. I reckon we should sign in at the House of Lords, the daily allowance is £323 now and it's tax free.

Although I'm contributing in France, I don't earn very much so my French pension is likely to be rather low.

I'm lucky to be paying £2.60 per week into the UK state pension.

I understand that new overseas workers must now pay class 4 instead of class 2.
