Lock Down?

Am I the only one who thinks all this is total scaremongering, and more to the point, nothing to be worried about?

I for one will not be going into lockdown, and I was told today they are bringing in the army to make sure everyone does self isolate, but who is self isolating the army?

I don't think so. I saw a clip of a chap in Lombardy comparing newspapers from a month ago to a couple of days ago. A single page of death notices a month ago and 10 from 2 days ago. A tenfold increase in the death rate of (mostly) the elderly requires a significant response, in my opinion.

Where does panic buying toilet rolls come into it then?

Apparently if you build an inner room in your house completely from toilet rolls and stay in there the virus won't penetrate .

While I agree with many it's completely overblown mountain over a molehill.

Do 30k folk not die off flu every year in Europe?

Never really thought it would affect forestry work, esp not so quickly, 1 or 2 men on a site in middle off nowhere.

1 company put the harvesters on a quota, and not a very big quota either, worried they won't be able to sell produce.

Not good, I'd be surprised if enough to make payments on £750k worth off equipment per site ( assuming a just 1 newish harvester and forwarder)

A lot off folk could be infor a tough time, and not throu actual illness

I’m kind of somewhere in the middle between panic and complacency.. I’m responsible for the well being of 24 guys in a recovery community, some of whom have weak immune systems.

We’ve had to put some pretty stringent measures in place to try and keep everyone as safe as possible, while trying to maintain some kind of normality.

We don’t live ‘in fear’ but we have a healthy ‘respect’ for the seriousness of the situation.

A distant relative of my wife has already died from it in the US.

He was 34 and apparently in good health.

That brought it home a bit...

Really?

As of today 63 have died of it in the whole of the USA and one was actually related to you...?

 What are the chances eh?
