Zero here but .......My stack won't last for ever now I am retired from cutting . Its gonna hurt when I have to pay for it ! ☹️

How do the log supplers make a living? We all pay nothing! (same here).

 

I guess I would have to compare wood price vs smokless fuel price (£25 a week in the winter) - but I have no idea how much wood I would use if I just burnt wood in the middle of winter, my coal man does logs for £85 for a bulk bag (Glasgow area)

Yes I will just rely on gas if I cannot manage to cut and split enough in my dotage, it's uneconomic for me to buy logs at local prices.

I drive a lorry  ( part time ) doing palletised deliveries ...today I delivered 2 dumpy bags of nice logs in cornwall and customer told me they were £105 each ( del inc )   cheaper than local ..........they were from the lake district !!!!

I'm not that far North of Surrey so there is hope if you are happy with arisings...
