  2. So it looks like you've got juuust enough space to knock it over, shouldn't be a big job for anyone to take it down for you. Depending on what specific cultivar it was it might coppice just fine, if it's only dead from the waist up, and not below the belt... but it could be a goner altogether. Either way, you need to get it removed, it'll become more of a hazard every day that passes. If you're at all interested in having it grow back, just mention to whoever gets rid of it for you that you'd like it coppiced and they'll leave the stump in the right condition for it. I actually removed one in my own garden to let a digger through 2 years ago, it's come back just fine. I'll get a picture later. It was winter, I assumed it was just another sycamore.

  6. LOL. This has made my day. Cheers guys. As you can probably tell, I am new to this forum thing.👍
  7. Thank you both. So it's by no means a simple matter to resolve. Shame, but to be expected. I'll start off by thinning this years fruit. Slightly confused about doing the blossom vs the fruitlets though. What's the harm in doing it now, at the blossom stage, other than the risk of ending up with too few fruit due to the June drop and some flowers not being set? @Peasgood - there is actually plenty of vegetative growth always, too much probably. I've pruned if off already, I think I did it late last winter. The form of the tree is still very much WIP! It is on a M106 rootstock if I remember rightly.

  10. interesting getting the right lubricant is important too for me, i've found the best is TFR, and mixed right too personally, i've found pine sol and screen wash crap, but different things work for different people 👍

  13. Contact all the bigger looking firms in the areas you are wanting to be in. You can type up a general email with questions and a bit of basic CV on it, just paste it into email and send it to the firms. The answers better from the horses mouth, not other peoples opinions, you might even get an offer.
  14. Killed the other shed! It has boost control issues so got parked! I'm off for a week's break so don't really care!
  15. I'll never forget the Escort Christmas special. It was a hawthorn hedge adjacent to a field entrance from a C road. "Santa Comes But Once A Year!". I knew he'd be ok that year as soon as I saw his new elf recruits on page 4.

  17. Yeah, far from ideal. Speaking as an immigrant myself, I absolutely agree that you should try and look after the Irish before worrying about refugees, but I've found that the only people shouting about it aren't really the sort to help other Irish people either.

  19. Can anyone help with sourcing a part for Hyundai hyc6200x chainsaw. I need a new clutch drum rim sprocket but am finding it impossible to find. The saw runs the 20" bar, .325 -.058. I can find the clutch drum but not the sprocket. It's definitely there in expanded diagram but with no part number. Any help will relieve insanity.

  20. Mine spends most of its life with 8 tooth sprocket and 18" bar, cuts really fast so use that for ringing stuff up. It does ok on 7 tooth sprocket and 28" bar for chogging but don't need that so often.

  22. And finally I have connected my inverter to the new mains grid connection. Rome wasn't built in a day, remember. The last major step is to connect the Woodmizer to the inverter and see if it will run it! Hope to do a temporary job on this tomorrow and if it all runs good I will do it properly next week.

  24. I have one in the truck mark well two , contrary to the guys above I find it a very handy tool to have, my eyes are not what they where and 30 + years ago when I learnt to sharpen a saw ..and I’ll be honest I’ve found in the last 5 I’ve struggled sharpening heavily damaged chains and to keep an eye on my dominant hand in check, I’ve found this a pretty handy tool to use if I hit a rock and the chain is knacked… I will still free hand file most chains but the 1/4 pitch little echo is a nightmare and just looks a blur to me and the bigger bars are nice to have a go over every 2-3 sharpens to keep them cutting straight and it saves time rather than having to do the rakers separately.
