Rock Machinery 37 ton box wedge splitter
polish pete replied to polish pete's topic in Firewood forum
Yeah, I've seen worse road legal trailers on roads🙃 I have Timbery m100 sawmill on a road legal trailer and it looks fragile. Was your Trakmet mobile? We have a large, stationary, electric one on our estate. Well built. I looked at the mobile version it looks chunky, over 2 tonnes in weight. Rock Machinery stuff seems to be reasonable well made, I just thought it's not the fastest the vertical-horizontal ones. -

Been asked to install some metal cable bracing putting in 20mm bolts in mature beech. I will probably need a 2ft drill bit. Haven't done it for 20 years and used to use a petrol power drill. My question is would a modern battery drill be up to the task or am I asking too much. Thanks for any help.

So with the exception of Norway, you will need to be granted a work visa or permit for Sweden and Finland in advance. I would assume that visas/permits are issued where skills shortages have been identified, rather than handed out to anyone irrelevant of need, like sweeties.

What the most unusual thing you have found in a tree
Mike Hill replied to Henry218's topic in Climbers talk
Working in Germany I found plenty of bullets. The Armour piercing ones, ruin your chain.Berlin there were roof tile chunks in most of the old trees. Once in Bergen by the Docks , I felled a tree full of shrapnel. When we were working on lowering the stump and cutting around the splinter a German guy asked what we were doing. As the chunk finally came out I gave it to him,he was over the moon. Considering the effort his fore fathers had gone to in order to get that bit of metal to Norway in the first place. -

Dunno about the solar panel thing. The only experience I have of solar panels is that my parents had it fitted years ago and they hardy get any money back from it. Its broken a couple of times and each time it seems to cost a grand to sort it out which wipes out any savings that they have made over the previous years. They are old and probably being fleeced but that's not my problem

Its a sweaty humid day. This is very nice! VID_20250722_191659.mp4 I feel like I have made some progress. Im also amazed at the quantity of leylandii roots remaining. Its been gone 18 months so they are starting to rot and pull out and break a bit easier.

Whatever you do decide with the landlord what each of you wants from this, write it in a contract. Remember a gentlemens' agreement is an agreement between two people, neither of whom are gentlemen and neither expects to fulfill his part of the agreement. I can relate a story or two about gentlemens'' agreements. From what I understand you do not have much to bring to the table and are at the mercy of your landlord's goodwill.
