  2. If you look through arbjobs some of the firms offer an estimate, eg team leader at Beechwood 30-39k. It's going to depend on area too, can't find it now but I think there was a an from Edinburgh botanical gardens for around 20k. I'd have thought 25k is achievable in Oxfordshire though.

  4. ‘Impact rated’ is nothing like the same as ‘an impact driver is faster than the sustained torque offered by a decent drill’
  5. Unbelievably good

  8. I am not sure I understand. it is carried on a trailer. it is on tracks so it drives itself up the ramp. in the photo its is just facing the brash and I am blowing it into the back of my truck.
  9. Good idea for a thread, Alex. I'm going back to your title/original point -mainly because I don't/won't have a website myself. Spending a few minutes with a new potential customer, to explain what works we do and our background, etc seems valuable to them, to glean an understanding of us, and seems to build their trust. I always do this before discussing their potential work/problem. It helps set the initiative -and helps them understand there are two parties in their contract considerations . On more complex/open enquiries, I think sacrificing half an hour or so to gently quiz a customer on their objectives, seems a mutually beneficial exercise, often for both parties. Getting them to list/produce a simple specification of what they actually need, is helpful all round. I should have mentioned at the start, that our Conservation work includes treework.. so maybe a little different from others here.
  10. so were still looking, we do have a few to look at , albeit on the cheaper side .. im kinda put off from the Forst now , tho they did seem to be a bit cheaper, but reliability is a must, I guess all things go wrong tho , does the Forst have the same engine as the TW ?

  16. Again I something similar, I use a quad bike and a flail mower, the advantage being the quad bike has other uses about the place, trailer towing, dragging etc.

  19. That could be a lovely gaff, if/when I settle in a pile of bricks it will be in Suffolk, or the Staffordshire Moorlands/Peak District
  20. I've used Navara Kingcabs for 18 years. You can add a trailer to carry more and/or make up some greedy boards. Do you have a tripod ladder? If so you can use it to hold down several dumpy bags of arisings; stand on the ladder to press the dumpy bags down and to get the front feet down into the back of the buck against the tailgate and strap the thin end to the ladder rack behind the cab (you need one of those to put mesh onto to protect the rear screen). All sounds a bit niche but it's how I've done small tree and hedge work for all that time (with the trailer bit).
  21. Makita DUC254 (but put 1/4 pitch chain) or Echo 2500T are the lightest. Personally I have the 254, it's great for this type of stuff.

  26. Since acquiring UK distribution rights for the ECHO brand three years ago - and more recently introducing the ECHO Robotics range of commercial robots - FGM Claymore has experienced significant growth in the autonomous turf care sector. To support this continued momentum, the company is pleased to announce the appointment of James Tatters, who brings over 10 years of experience with the ECHO Robotics commercial product line. James’s in-depth technical knowledge and practical field expertise will significantly enhance FGM Claymore’s service capabilities and product support. “James’s expertise will further strengthen our support and service offering as we continue to lead in autonomous turf care,” said Paul Butterly, Managing Director of FGM Claymore. James Tatters will work closely with Sam Daybell, Head of Robotics for the UK and Ireland, as the robotics division continues to grow. This growth is further marked by the launch of Sunseeker Elite, a new domestic robotic line and the latest brand to join the FGM Claymore portfolio. With an expanded team and a broader product range, FGM Claymore is well-positioned to meet increasing market demand in both commercial and domestic robotic turf care.
