  2. If you watch YouTube video on Kebtec pruners do by that Australian look bloke, he shows what they have fitted to stop chopping pinky off. But you have to set it every time.

I tried one of these at a fair once. Thinking "how hard can it be, I've a pretty keen sense of balance", I was confident. Turned out it was nigh on impossible, I didn't even manage one rung.

  5. To be honest, your doing well to get three chains worth of life out of a Husqvarna 135 ! Assuming the saw and bar is OK, I'd clean up the bar, get the rails flat and true and replace the chain and sprocket. The problem is these parts wear together. An worn sprocket will mess up a new chain, a messed up chain will mess up the new sprocket.
  6. Just check the local people, they need a 10x1.0 helicoil kit and willing/able to do it.
  7. Be nice or I'll come round and shove a ferret up your nightie!
  8. well done. I'm sure you won't be disappointed
  9. once you start accepting the feckin' alphabet people and "furries" as the same as everyone else with the same rights, it's hard to tell the terminal nutjobs from those just wanting a little attention. given the propensity worldwide to avoid questioning the sanity and eligibility of all the things normal people can use and be responsible with, you're on a downward spiral. in our own country literally hundreds of people are on various lists, being monitored for website activity, often for years, but nothing is done until they blow kids up at a concert, or school, or some other atrocity, and then it's all,,, lessons will be learned, and suggestions, lobbying, etc, and wasting time and taxpayers money on how to place more controls on those adhering to the laws in place without achieving anything to negate the original problems. walk down the road minding your own business with the wrong kind of dog and it gets seized and destroyed, say a few "hurty words" on the internet and you could wind up incarcerated, fly the wrong flag from your roof and see how quick 5/0 turn up. and people wonder why there is so much negativity in the world.

    Makita DUC150

Nope the guard is 100% coming off before its first job. Note the Fakita, which apart from having a bulky motor sticking out the side, is actually pretty good. Its only a basic DC motor but it feels to have decent power and chain speed. Cant remember when I last used it.

  16. Tony flailing with a 2.7t digger is for when you can’t be arsed putting a blade on a strimmer, and tbh sometimes you’d be quicker with the strimmer. If it’s light bramble and jaggies work in areas you can only get a 5’ machine in with a lot of stones or uneven ground, then use the digger and flail. If it’s not that then you’ll soon get frustrates with the flail. More info on you lots of flailing. Regarding the longer boom, if it’s a zero turn machine it will buckaroo you all day long in the seat and will restrict your lifting capacity.
  17. Yes but fixing on site could mean you have to wait for someone to come out to wherever you are. It's not I could call the AA to get me home. I don't know why they don't offer a system like you say. Something where you can put the machine in neutral so that you can push it out or even tow it out of gear.

  19. Have you tried this bit of the site? https://arbtalk.co.uk/recycling/ I wouldn't recommend woodchip to get rid of weeds though. Not in the long term at least. They'll work for a couple years, if in a sufficiently thick layer, but as soon as they start to rot and breakdown they'll just form fertile new soil for weeds to grow in. Better to use an inorganic mulch like chippings or slate. Or just accept that there'll always be weeds and remove them as and when they get too much, and certainly before they set seed.
  20. on holiday at the moment so cant investigate further, but ive unhidden it for you in the meantime.
  21. This one has me stumped. Tree crown is around 10-15 metres in height and spread. Not a lot of photos as I was slightly distracted by the Naturists in the garden and didn’t want to give them the wrong idea. No matter what time of day it is, why are they always playing lawn tennis?
  22. Just buy the Oregon or stihl can, with the Stihl spouts. Throw the husky one in the bin.
  23. I like how light and out the way the Protos coms are, only really need one ear anyway. Overall I’ve been happy with those, though I can see advantages to the pro coms. Like proper hearing protection.
  24. Late summer is after fruiting, and to avoid damp conditions in autumn as silver leaf likes the damp. I always say "well the books will tell you..... " and then go on to say mostly we ignore that and do trees whenever we get to them else we'd be hungry 6 months of the year. In any case I'm not sure that there is actually that much risk of silver leaf in the average garden, it's more of a stone fruit orchard problem. The spores are released from fruiting bodies on dead wood, so gardens being tidy there isn't much about.
