    Chickens?

Still have two chicks. Bought some crumb. Seem to be coming on quite fast. They go for a half hour walk outside with mum. One did get picked up by another chicken a few days ago. Chaos ensued. Mum fearless. She’s so far squared up to the geese, the other chickens, Sailor and me to protect them.
  15. Not work job related but after quite a few heavy hints last month, I received a fantastic ’Father’s Day’ present from the kids, a Tasmanian Tree Fern (Dickinsonia antarctica). So this morning we cleared an unkempt, shaded shrub bed, which was bordered by broken concrete slabs, and replanted, manured, mulched and watered. We then created a new border with the remains of the stone used in the construction of the bread oven. I planted one of these ferns back at my old place in Lancashire 30 years ago, it is still going strong in the care of the new owner.
  16. No they've finished, he's in sitting now.
  17. I tried looking on YouTube at the various vids on Holder vintage rallies, Holders in vids of forestry working but the best I could find picture-wise was a lad stripping and rebuilding his A60 and then a first start vid showing the side view of his tractor without the front wheel but the loader on his is “the other type” , longer loader arms with underslung cylinders for tipping the bucket and a fancy pivot in the front arms connected to the top of the bucket by bars. His was a grey loader ( manufacturers colour) My loader is green (Holder green colour) In my internet search I came across a guy on this forum from about 10 years ago showing off his new paint job on his Holder, having the same style loader, I was hoping he or someone else with my type loader has some detailed piccies of the bits I’m missing. Any help much appreciated G
  18. Yes, me. Ironically my chipper is yellow so the orange not an upgrade, but you can't have everything.
  19. In the autumn you can check all around the base of the tree for fungal brackets, if you really want to investigate you can pay for a PICUS test or similar, will be able to detect the amount of decay in the base of the trunk As its US, here is a link to one of the long established US forums (if you ask there it has a tree care and health section) https://www.masterblasterhome.com/ If the tree is infected by October you should see fruiting bodies around the base e.g below is an image of inside a tree trunk - an expensive service, but may give you peace of mind
  20. Hi, I purchased some new MT2 tips for my grinder and set about installing them. I managed to get the old ones out, but the last one was difficult. I followed all the guidelines when replacing them and even put in new bolts. But I had an issue with the last tip. It drops in ok, but I can't get the keeper in to secure it. This is annoying because it is the same keeper that came out too. I have even tried another keeper, and it will not go in. I was wondering if anyone else has come across an issue like this when replacing a tip? My Stump Grinder is out of action for now, and I need it for jobs. Thanks
