It is a Stihl PM3 chain, I bought a 64dl one a while back and shortened to 60, to fit the original bar. I agree probably needs an adjustment, and a better exhaust, and the momentary stop switch from the clone.. I much prefer the 3/8" chain. I do have a spare bar and sprocket so might swap the Echo back to 3/8" but I'm rarely using it.

So its well into the new year now and just to update I have completely removed the engine and put in new piston rings. That is in addition to the new head gasket that I did in the last part of last year and the engine is still smoking from the right hand cylinder. What on earth can I try next. This has become a battle of wills and I'm not giving up. I do have another question that someone may be able to help me with. When I was adjusting the governor after I reassembled the engine I searched online for information. Several different posts on youtube said that you hold the governor arm fully down to open up the throttle to full and then turn the governor shaft clockwise until it clicks and tighten down. Well I finally acquired the workshop manual a genuine one by Briggs and Stratton and it says you open the throttle to full by pushing the governor arm down and then you turn the governor shaft anti-clockwise until it clicks and tighten it down. Can anyone shed any light on this. It wasn't only one post that said clockwise but several of them. If anyone has personal experience of these engines mine is a 351777 . Thanks.

Agreed that sounds fine. Run through the other checks and let us know. Not idling or surging are classic symptoms of an air leak somewhere.

Kram, if you have quoted 3 men on the hedge an you think it's doable just stick to your guns. As for the disagreement about the arisings of the tree takedown. You need to make sure you write in your quote exactly what you are planning to do with them as I have had this before. Customer then quibbles and if it was verbal then you are on very rocky ground as they can just say 'that was not my understanding'. So clearly and concisely written quote can save trouble further down the line. Obviously only relevent in those few cases where you have those customers who just don't do as they are told and just get their wallet out. If he wants you to get in and sort that brash out then some boards on the ground is your answer.

Looked up the towing specs of a new one here, 3door, braked 1300kg, unbraked 350kg 😆 but a mate had a new one, loved it, another had the older one, scary to drive if nearing motorway speeds

can't go wrong with most tbh, if it sounds good, holds oil, doesn't leak and digs! buy it. today I through a track for the first time in a few years I think, big boulders under leaf litter and fly tipping. luckily I now have a Dave, my right hand man who was a fitter for 15 years and operates everything, I ate lunch, he put the track on.

Might be Biennial Cropping. Some varieties are more prone to it. One of ours does it, it's a bit annoying. Laxton’s Superb I think it is. Lovely big tasty apple, every two years!

I lied about running great. Early on the recoil spring snapped, likely user error as I have had to adjust it before. Anyway after bending a new tang on the end and she was fine after that. I'll get a new one ordered along with spares for my 020t and 2511.

Nothing like being happy in your life . 🙂 -
Oh I completely agree, seens the police are useless , however in this day and age you will get someone stab u in the back by filming it... the stuff you could get away with you cant and because the police are biased - ie all this so called mental health shit, or they came from a bad home etc means that the police are geared up to protect the criminal, including the justice system and prisons...there the worst as the moj are so scared to be sued by a prisoner that they will bend over backwards for them. Nothing will change until u get rid of the human rights shite. Maybe then il happily get involved but unless my life's in danger , I couldnt be bothered .
