What Could Us Ever Have Done For The Romans!
openspaceman replied to Billhook's topic in General chat
I knew they used lead acetate in wine but assumed it was to sweeten. The early tinned foods were soldered with lead and it caused a lot of poisoning of sailors and Scott's missiom to south pole IIRC -

Kind of true still, if it is too long you forget points or your eyes glaze over towards the end of reading it. If I get one that is too long then my first assumption is whoever wrote it just copied and pasted from previous examples, cover everything, without ever looking at the site or site conditions. My favourite example is specifying a hard hat to walk into a green field months before any plant is considered to start work there. Copy and paste, makes me wonder if the rest of the risk assessment is up to the job.

Morning all, Enjoyed some connie bashing yesterday at last. Two inches of snow if that here. Taking Hilux in for its service, windscreen not even frozen over outside. Be safe.

Unless it is down the road and viewable or, you paid big for an insured asset value estimate, always go for a huge portion of Caveat Emptor off the sweet trolley! I've brought a couple of pigs before I learnt my lesson!

I looked at those a couple of years ago. Hugely confusing selection of models. Some rifled, some smoothbore, some belt fed, some rotary mag, some pellet, some bb, etc. No logic to the combinations. Gave up. Post a group when you've got used to it.

While I don't think many of us (?!) would really disagree with your points, I would make one exception -in the case of the tiny 18v/40v battery tree pruning saws . Such as Makita UC029G, Milwaukee M18 Fuel, etc These now offer several significant advantages over 2strokes, for climbers carrying out light pruning operations: lower weight, smaller size, lower noise, less vibrations, no repeated pull starting, cheaper, no exhaust burns, etc They also make good chipper saws, and handy to keep in the van, workshop, garden etc for odd jobs. So, after a few decades of tree-bothering experience, I'm now a convert to those 'battery toys', thanks Gabriel !!

That's just the use of tech though they can do all that now if they wanted to, 6G just means the communications can go faster - in fact they could have done most of that 10 years and at 4G too... I said above 6G as a tech doesn't worry me as much as the brain rot that we will use it for
