  2. Maps | North Northamptonshire Council WWW.NORTHNORTHANTS.GOV.UK View maps showing locations of services, gritting routes, planning information, as well as other location-specific information If you click on "Interactive Map", you can turn layers on that show TPO and CA. If that doesn't work you can try this link: http://maps.kettering.gov.uk/ They will reply to an email enquiry, which is a fair idea anyway as their online mapping can be outdated.
  3. Spain and Portugal power outage live: no signs of cyber-attack, says EU, but ‘impossible’ to know when electricity will be restored | World news | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM European Council president rules out cyber attack but Portuguese grid operator says it does not know when... No power at all in Spain and most of Portugal... that's interesting! "No signs of cyber attack", they say, but of course it's tempting to point the finger at Russia, isn't it? Maybe this'll have to be moved to the Ukraine thread after a while. Anyone heard anything?

  5. Useful stuff, cheers. I'll look for cleanest lengths then. It had competition all right, long established ash beech and oak on all sides. So hopefully it'll yield some good straight sections.
  6. I honestly don't think that it crosses his mind that he's shit at his job and loathed by half the population.
  7. Did you change any filters, as it might have stirred up crud on what I'm assuming is a 20+ year old chipper. Was there a screen filter in the tank?.

  11. Usually as a TO we would assess and comment on applications, this would then go to the relevant planner who could then make a decision, some would take into consideration the view of the Officer, however sometimes any advice is ignored. We also try to Condition very specifically only for the planner to use a generic one off the shelf that misses any specific requirements.
  12. Very thorough, you get all 5 points. Cheers.
  13. Morning, over cast here! day of digging for me or more like levelling off.
  14. HC my guess too, probably super light compared to sycamore as it looks dry already.
  15. Once I was on a job taking down some dead cottonwoods at a fishing camp in Alaska. They were huge and dead,no bark and hollow, proper "Ghost Tree's". Anyhow, one of them had what was left of its crown over some buildings, we couldn't lower them off and the gear we had was limited to what we could fit in the sea plane we flew out in. I tied my climbing line as high as I could, the lowering rope was attached to the end of that and tied to the davitts on a jet boat in the river. I put my gob in as the boat did its best to stay still holding the line taught cringing at the sight of a cavity where the gob was,I had just started the back cut when Billy bob gave that 454 Big block half a gallon of freedom fluid and the top 40 feet flew into the willows like a giant dart. On those trees you could feel bits hitting the ground inside the tree as they fell down the hollow trunk. Follow me for more safe work practices.
  16. Quite some experience here: 1.Use a Stump Grinder for super-rototilling, regular tillers don't go deep enough. 2. Your best bet for grading is a harley rake or power box rake, best attached to a mini skid. As the UK seems to be the inventor of pointless narrow gates, a walk behind tractor, preferbly with hydro drive would be your second choice. 3. If no harley rake is available, a power harrow or better a stone burrier or both (first pass stone burrier second pass harrow) would be an acceptable option. 4. If none of 2. and 3. Is available, try to get a newer p38 with blade, grind rough grade, use handrake. A micro digger would fit anywhere between these options, if you know how to use it. 5. Compact/roll seed 6. Tell the customer if say don't water everything's lost, they are responsible for germination, avoid responsibility for their lazyness.

  18. If the damage is ankle-height it's probably a strimmer injury. Nothing you can do really, try to minimise moisture availability and it could help slow down the rot, might deter some creepy crawlies. How tall is the tree now, and is it close to anything valuable?
  19. Ive just got a muck grab type currently, and the standard bucket. Again, not alot of choice in manufacturers of grabs, and $$$$.
  20. As dumb as it sounds (I’m forestry based) but I’ve struck up conversations with local lower impact forestry squads around my area on Instagram or Facebook and ended up getting work alongside them so there is that approach. Where are you based? Here in Scotland there’s a Whatsapp group for forestry and arborists and there seems to be boys always posting for groundies.
  21. Hey doobin. Do you not think a new pick up after warranty is up will be a massive loss in depreciation? I bought a cheap 2021 new shape D Max (cheap as in 5-7K less than others advertised). It will be out of warranty shortly, and currently on 94K miles. Done 20,000 in it since last August. My first thought was keep it til it’s 5 years old or 125,000 for Isuzu warranty then flog it and buy another but looking at the price of them it’s a big out put just for a motor to get you to work…
  22. The bracing specification should be specified by the surveyor.. Your saying 4t but maybe 8t.. that's for the surveyor to specify along with static or dynamic installation and where in the tree.. A single bracing takes an hour to install by one climber, this does alter a bit depending on the size tree and how easy it is to move between each side of you bracing. Plus travel to and from site, accessing the tree, getting the kit laid out etc all the usuall faff. Much easier with two climbers, and take a bag/bucket you can dangle of your harness to put all the bit in.
  23. Interested to know diagnosis of this common whitebeam in garden. Appears very water stressed with cankers, but not sure if phytophthora. What advice would you give? 25 years old
  24. Wisteria doing it’s thing. Alive with big blue/black carpenter bees. Too fast to catch with a iPhone for the moment.
  25. Doesn’t have to be a hemispherical prism. Could be a geodesic dome for example. What it ****************ing won’t be though is a sweat lodge for womb bathing and breath work ceremonies. I like capitalism, meat and white culture.
  26. That’s strong marketing talk.

    ArbDogs? Pics!

Dog watches fly. He got one of his ears pierced yesterday. I was booting a bit of scaffold tube stuck in the ground to loosen it. He was wanting to assist with the extrication by clawing and gnawing at the surrounding sod. Anyway. His ear ended up on top of the tube right as my boot did. Loud squeak, some blood. Straight back at it. Doesn’t give a ****************.
