  2. Taken yesterday in rural Warwickshire.
  3. I got there kids, 8,6 and 2. Would be helpful if they could come out and give me a hand when they are older. The 6 year old is mad keen for it! I took the track chipper out to site and we had to get down a nadgery steepish footpath. "Dad let me know if you need to use the winch to get back out!" Anyhow I like some others work a bit on my own, less so climbing on my own, tis hard work but it is all your own.
  4. I did the Coke thing the first couple of times I cooked a ham. It's okay, but I prefer to use cider now. Plus some good strong spices. I used to do a honey and mustard glaze thing as well, but can't be bothered with the extra faff these days. It tastes nice enough with the cider and spice anyway.
  5. He's not got a granite chin like Wardley, Joyce (pre zhang), Usyk or the great Dave Allen, but I wouldn't say it's Glass. He's never been one punch ko'd like Amir Kahn or Huni for instance. The only 2 times AJ has been stopped he was stopped a few rounds after taking the initial equilibrium shot. I'm no AJ fan, but there are levels to this sport and Jake is so far below AJ it's crazy
  6. Today
  7. I’m looking at buying a 2015 Hilux and fitting an arb tipper as a work truck (body fitted by a professional coach builder not myself). However, as it qualifies for the chassis recall (in age anyway) my question is-does anyone have experience getting a chassis recalled if the vehicle has a tipping body or non-standard rear body? Will they replace as usual or is it a different story?
  8. I think the most disappointing aspect of this is not the failure to regain the Ashes, it’s the fact that apart from briefly on the second day of the first test, England have not been remotely in the contest. Abject.

  10. What happened?
  11. Yes, you usually still need to notify the council/tree officer for works within a Conservation Area, even if it’s permitted development. Since it’s within the RPA, submitting the AMS and getting written confirmation before starting is the sensible (and safest) approach.
  12. Brilliant ! Just ordered it, sent to my father's, thank you for the hot tip. I won't be able to pick it up until my next UK trip but that's all good with me. Just need to ensure I don't lose the rest of the parts... 😂
  13. Thanks stubby
  14. compression is a peak value, so you could still have a ring leak or a stuck valve etc. even the oil itself can contribute to the compression.
  15. If it’s bad it's out of action so just strip it down and get numbers of bearings. If still towable run it to trailer supplier and they should be able to say which bearings by looking at it.
  16. Morning, sorry to hear about your mate Stubby. i went back to work yesterday after 2 weeks of basically living and sleeping on the couch , it didn’t take long before I seized up and twanged something in the back of my leg , 😂. Went to bed at 8pm, started my baby night shift at 4am, fed and she went back to sleep at 5am. Luckily my nephews out grounding today and shifting the timber so I’ll point at stuff when I go in at 9am.

  18. Jase is sorted with a good spot, with folk he knows and close to home. They really wanted him to join them and respect his views and principals. Epic result!

  20. A longstanding member sells English Hardwood Charcoal (scrap willow). He doesn't remotely need to. He just loves the con.
  21. That beautiful moment when the first tooth you sharpened appears again all shiny and bright! ( after what seems like hours sharpening a 66 36” bar on the job when your crew didn’t tell you it was hammered!!) Yes, I was the only one to use it afterwards! 😂
  22. Does the hopper come off so I can fit it through a 4 foot gate?
  23. Hi All. not sure if this is the best place to put it but my chipper broke down today Forst st6P. Called Forst and they had a technician out within 90 minutes and had me back up and running by the afternoon. i know ill pay for it when the bill comes in but super quick, polite and efficient service, i cant argue with the service i received. weight it up against the headache of getting parts in, time off work and hire in costs. it made sense. And handily did a service and blades at the same time so save me a Christmas job. So all in all very happy. Just to note it was the main bolt on the top hydraulic pump sheared off. Luckily didnt damage the pipes which apparently is common result. apparently they can work loose over time so worth checking if you own one. Cheers

  24. Hi, I made another self led course available online. This time it is: Tree Risk Inspection Basics: Assessing for health and safety. 1.5 hours long. It was created to help people in the basic assessment of tree condition and risk. The idea is that it helps people pick up things that may be or become hazards but also to understand the needs of the trees so we can hopefully preserve more mature trees. It is useful to those actively and passively assessing trees. Please have a look at the full description, or start the course, following the link as it is too much to put here. If you take it, please provide your constructive feedback and a rating so that I can improve future versions. Please share it if you feel that it is helpful. Thanks
  25. There is that but it’s probably the tastiest bird you will eat... I might take a couple but I’ll only do it if I see 30+ flying over me in half hour. Beating on a shoot in Durham and they must of shot 50/50 with the pheasants be never seen as many and the guns didn’t even get a shot off at the majority, again when I beated down in Cambridgeshire you might of seen one in the entire day despite the woods being like swamps ! I’ll walk up there most nights just to watch them… snipe is something I rarely see now , I used to be able to see 3-4 in an evening on a 30 acre stand now I might see one a year.
  26. Bandit has unveiled the new Intimidator 15XCT woodchipper, developed in direct response to feedback from UK industry professionals. Designed to meet the specific needs of tree care and forestry experts, the 15XCT features a replaceable chip breaker system, with individual breakers that can be changed independently - a key request from customers of Global Machinery Solutions, Bandit’s exclusive UK supplier, to enhance performance and uptime. The Intimidator 15XCT is powered by a high-torque Stage V diesel engine and a four-knife chipping drum capable of processing material up to 15 inches in diameter. Its rubber track undercarriage provides excellent stability, flotation, and low ground pressure, making it ideal for uneven, soft, or muddy terrain. For applications requiring extra durability, an optional steel undercarriage is also available. Operators benefit from a wireless radio remote control, which manages the track drive, feed direction, feed wheel positioning, discharge swivel, chip flipper, and infeed pan. The fish-mouth style infeed improves visibility and approach, while the wide hydraulic infeed tray accommodates irregular timber and multi-piece loading. Edward Baker, Managing Director of Global Machinery Solutions, commented: "The wide infeed delivers faster processing, fewer blockages, and a smoother, more productive workflow. It ensures consistent chip quality, reduces overs, and meets biomass or specification-led chipping requirements. “We’ve listened to our customers and worked with Bandit to configure a machine that truly delivers for tree professionals. It’s a significant addition to the Bandit range and the forestry industry, which we’re proud to launch." As the UK’s official Bandit supplier, Global Machinery Solutions provides nationwide delivery, flexible payment options, comprehensive parts and service support, and expert advice, including on-site demonstrations.
