    Clutch spring hack

Yeah, I'm not going to do that every day. It's fine on vibes etc though. Impressive machine really. Apart from this monstrously bad running on. And I mean bad. Like quarter throttle easily. Wasted loads of effort dragging the chain to a stop on wood and using the chain brake unnecessarily. Not to mention it's horrendously dangerous if you don't have your wits about you. Where you'd normally gribble through the last inch of cut so the chain has already stopped when it drops into space, you now have to worry about it picking back up to quarter or third throttle. You're effectively stood there with a machine gun that's stuck firing unless you want to abuse the chain brake.

  12. I had a load of tools stolen off the back of my van on Sunday 19th October between 21:20 and 23:30 on Hastings Road next to Bo Peep Corner in Pembury, Kent. It's a long shot, but if anyone happens to spot any of the following items for sale please contact me, or contact Kent police quoting the reference 19-1599. Stolen items: Stihl HT131 telescopic pole chainsaw with 600mm HL-145 hedge trimmer head attached, also the chainsaw head for it (which wasn't currently attached) was stolen too. Identifying marks: it's got a brand new starter recoil assembly with the sticker with the part number etc. on it still stuck to the bottom/foot portion of that assembly. Seeing one of these machines with a 600mm hedge trimmer head is unusual. Serial number 508508493. Husqvarna 560xp chainsaw. Identifying marks: has an 18 or 20" Sugi Hara light-type Pro bar fitted with full chisel chain. 2014 model, serial number 4600246. Husqvarna 525BX handheld leaf blower. Identifying marks: short blower tube (second half not attached), red plastic off switch slightly smashed, severe sun damage to orange plastic parts, the insulation on both off switch wires is cracked where the handle attaches to the engine. 2015 model, serial number 3204980. Stihl MS201T top handle chainsaw. Serial number 176829633. No obvious distinguishing marks except a scratch on the left hand side of the black plastic main grip (where your hand that controls the throttle goes), possibly "TN2 4BL" written in sharpie on the top of one of the white plastic parts and random bits of blue and red spray paint which have mostly worn off. Also my whole bag of climbing kit containing: Teufelberger Treemotion harness which had attached to it a silver metal "Acme" brand whistle and an older black Petzl Caritool with the metal wire gate. 30m long green and white Teufelberger Hi-vee climbing rope with a spliced eye on one end. Orange and black Treehog steel core flip line which has had the original orange fabric sleeve removed. 5 or 6m long blue and white rope positioning lanyard with red and black ART positioner. Various carabiners (several grey with green gate, 2 blue with orange gate, 1 pink with pink gate, 1 red with black gate attached to the positioning lanyard). 2 green and black prusiks. 2 eye to eye hitches (one was set up on my main rope as part of a "Valdotain Tresse") Some slings (two of which are blue and white). 3 pulleys: a dark blue Stein one with 2 attachment holes, a DMM pulley with a light blue casing and an orange pulley wheel and 3 attachment points (was set up on my main rope as part of a "Valdotain Tresse") and a Camp pulley with a red casing and silver pulley wheel with 1 attachment point. Stein cambium saver. Cambium saver retriever with yellow cordage and blue plastic bead. All of it was in a knackered dark blue Stein kit bag.

  13. I'm having similar problem. As I tighten the clutch cover nut, the (new grey genuine husky) cover seems to catch the rim of the clutch drum preventing the sprocket from turning. If I don't tighten the cover nut, chain runs. It's a husky 435II. Any ideas gratefully received

  23. Cheers all. I think it was just lucky timing, a chap I spoke to down south said his machine was 22+ vat for the same setup, so I’m hoping it’ll turn out well. Definitely a start towards getting fat sitting in a cab all dayπŸ˜‚

  25. When I moved insurers, after Aviva didn't pay out on a stolen L200, I tried nfu, they wanted a certificate of conformity for my tipping body. A local engineer had made it but certificate available or implied. Without such certificate nfu couldn't quote. Went with Cornish mutual in the end.
