Bulk Arb Waste wanted - can collect but how to find
spuddog0507 replied to Woodwanter's topic in Firewood forum
The OP has not hinted at what he would pay for say 2 arctic bulker load sat in a yard 40 mile away from his yard ? I get the feeling he is wanting it for next to nowt ? but every thing in life has a value and that value is far more to some than it is to others,, I know of 3 local ish yards where tree surgeons tip off (log chip and brash), 2 are free of charge and one is a tenner a load weather it be a barrow full or 5 tonne, all 3 of them are no where near as busy as they where 3 or 4 yrs ago ? and there is a very simple answer to that one and it is as the age old saying goes, money talks, One of these yards a friend of mine takes all the shite log from it for chipping (i do know what he pays for it and its not peanuts) and its 1 or 2 arctic load a wk ATM unlike 3 or 4 yrs ago it was 4 or 5 arctic load a wk, sorry to say things have changed as some one said above due to green energy ? and the days of getting timber of any sort for little money have virtually gone, 10 yr ago i was paying £950 for 25 tonne loads of decent sized hardwood today you can put 2k in front of the £950 and thats if you can get a odd load, None of us can compete with the likes of Jenkinsons who are running over 2000 trucks and seem to have the waste timber biomass job sawn up from one end of the country to the other with the likes of Tilhill and Euro forest all selling to jenkinsons and have signed deals with em, so the likes of us aint got a cat in hells chance of getting much nowadays,, i do still get a bit of timber from harvesting sites but its a couple of tonne of 2.5mtr a couple of tonne of 3.1mtr a few 3,7mtr and a few 4,9mtr then some big rough 2,5mtr over size, this may equate to a total from 5 or 6 tonne to may be 15 tonne but all i am doing is tidying up for them as its not worth sending a wagon for a part load, i would think you are on the RHI payment for your boiler so your getting paid for each kilowatt of heat you produce ? i know a few on this RHI payment and they just buying walking floor arctic loads of dried chip,, some one did say facebook market place and thats where the tree surgeons are getting rid of there excess log but for good money,, i used to take a good amount from a few tree surgeons but not had much this last few years,, , -
I avoid big reductions. When you learn about trees over several decades you realise how pointless they are anyway.

Hedge trimmers are by far the most popular battery machine. In the pro range top handles far outweigh rear handle machines in sales although they have died off a fair bit this year. Battery tech just isn't there for rear handle machines to really take off yet. Even though they can charge up fairly quickly they are just too expensive with too short a run time for a lot of pros to justify buying a decent rear handle saw.

Well I guess we are both in the same boat then. All there is to it is the ballot box or bale out of the UK.

So what do you suggest or what are the options for the lowly working man ??

Nothing weird about it you retard, it’s how a ltd company works. Every year billions are lost due to the same actions. If you want to try and change the whole business/company system then crack on. Your post is your normal obsessed jumble of lies and assumptions SP/TA the anonymous member.

I'm in the same situation, aged 66. I can still get up there, no problem, making a strategic cut with/without lowering gear for a big section. Not so good at going out to the periphery, or perhaps I should say useless. I have a 25 year old subbie who mentally is more like 35 -40 thank goodness, who I use for the tiring climbing work. I am now focusing on using machinery as much as possible. Currently using a very good tracked MEWP, mindigger with grab, power barrow, compact tractor with loader and 3 point winch etc. I use these to make my jobs easier, but also hire myself out with kit/experience to help a couple of local similar small firms whi have less kit.

I purchased a new Hilux in Jan 2024 and the first thing I did was take it to a specialist for full waxoyl injection. And then treated any areas myself that I felt were missed. When I had the letter from Toyota about recalls I contacted my local dealer. They said they would only be inspecting it and if anything just waxing the chassis, so we agreed no point in them even looking at it. They said warranty would still be valid regardless.

£40 that's a good price. Make sure you have the right gasket sealant and its worth getting new seals they are about £6 each. You cant get the main bearings from Stihl as they only come with the crank from what I can see. If the crank you are buying doesn't have the bearings fitted then take your time removing the old bearings, you could try putting the crank in the freezer for a good few hours then try to quickly heat up the inner race of the bearing to get it off. Spud might have a few tips on this. You can get a set of gaskets and the seals for about £20, part number 4282 007 1600. The sealant is a bit pricy from stihl but they recommend dirko HT red which you can get from a lot of places.

In France, no qualifications are required to become a tree climber. Insurance companies don't ask for anything other than your business registration certificate and even then, they are pretty lax about who can obtain insurance. The authorities are only now beginning to more strictly regulate the industry. Regardless of that, France doesn't recognise UK NPTC certificates.

Weird isn't it, for one who is so keen to cut all government spending, starting with any spending on humanity, JonsonDs response to this story is "move on, don't talk about it, lets talk about something else" where in reality we should be saying that everyone who took money fraudulently needs to pay is back and with interest added on top. But not old double standards JonsonD, they made bucket loads, better not talk about it, jog on to the next story please.

Barrowman didn't provide many a tasty eyeful though - so without that redeeming factor he's just another conman who's gotten away with fleecing the taxpayer. Of course you can point to other waste of public funds, but that was just 2 individuals who knew exactly what they were doing. In fact the whole VIP fast lane set up was a view into Conservative corruption. I would like to see the whole NHS supply chain nationalised. A nationalised gown procurement operation wouldn't have to be as efficient as private, as no dividends to pay. Same for water, trains, everything. I really don't like a lot about the private sector - vampire squid on steroids. Why do you think Norway still has a majority holding in Equinor? Coz they are not fecked in the body, mind and soul. France has bought back EDF off the market. No more pigs siphoning off the cash.
