  2. Hope you disinfected your tools 😅
  3. The first AI hedgelaying championship is due to take place in 105 years time. No overvolting
  4. Glad I’ll be dead, or as good as. What is the point of life without work? What are we going to do all day, arts and crafts? Talk to the wife or some other fate worse than death. No harm in it for 10/15 years at the end when you’re old, but your whole life? You are what you do, you go to some sort of social gathering and as soon as you meet another bloke you find out what he does so you can judge him.
  5. Today
  6. Not necessarily unemployed but more time available by letting the robots do stuff
  7. Anyone on here using old vintage trucks,or ex wd type stuff as a useful addition to the operation? when I was younger I had an old J type Bedford with a Reynolds-Boughton 4x4 conversion, proved invaluable in many jobs, in a dumb moment I sold it and regretted it since, If I could find another I would have it, but due to the rarity I expect it would be hard find one I could reasonably afford. I am considering something similar to use just for my own use, and been looking for an Austin K9, or similar 4x4 truck. anyone thinking of selling one, give me a shout. cheers.
  8. Just popped to Villandry to help out with a bit of hedgecutting and pollarding.
  9. Remember that automation started around 200 years ago. Far less time globally is taken up with providing food and shelter than it was then. But our expectations have evolved. You might think that car manufacturing (as an example) would employ less people due to robots and automation. Wrong. More people work in car manufacture today than in 1960. Our needs and expectations have changed. We don’t yet know how things will evolve due to AI; but the fact that millions of jobs will be lost does not mean there will be millions unemployed!
  10. I have ordered a couple of times. Not sure what feedback I can give other than the price was rather appealing and they arrived in swift order, pretty much all one can desire.
  11. @Johnsond That aged well...
  12. For who's interested, I finally got some time to strip the saw down and have a closer look at it. All the flexible fuel lines etc. were fine and on initial inspection so was all the wiring. It was only because I had dismantled the saw and the top handle assembly was hanging off the body did the problem show itself. The black wire coming into the handle had broken about an inch inside the sheath and the weight of the dangling handle pulled it out. Otherwise I'd have never spotted it. Luckily just enough wire left to solder the two halves together and it's running fine again. If the fix doesn't last I'll replace the loom but I surprised myself solving it, so I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts. Happy New Year!
  13. Delicate. Lovely work mate.
  14. Great looking truck!!! Dunno if this is of help/interest?
  15. Frosty here, just really got up. Tom has a visa application in for the USA, if he gets it, I'll sell up at Shepshed and Caz and I will live together! My only new years resolution! What's yours? Lie, Caver, Gin.

  19. Check the pipe size to the spool valve, 1/2" or larger and don't use quick connections or compact 90s as they restrict the flow. Plus check the case return pipe is as large as possible, had an old Leyland with a 1/2" return, bored the nut out and made it 3/4" made lowering the loader less like watching paint dry as open circuit means your dumping into the returning high pressure oil.

  22. So could by valve block for loader, seal going or plumbed up wrong (your tractor runs open centre if it plumb closed centre will make a difference) Would get someone to check flow rate at rear spool to rule out pump.
