  1. Watch it you! Be having words with Mr Bullman! [emoji23] [emoji23]
  2. Thought of the Day [emoji23] Q: How many group members does it take to change a light bulb ? 1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed. 14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently. 7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs. 17 purists who use candles and are offended by light bulb discussions. 6 to argue over whether it's 'lightbulb' or 'light bulb'. Another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid. 22 to tell THOSE 6 to stop being jerks. 2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is 'lamp'. 15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that 'light bulb' is perfectly correct. 49 to post memes and gifs (several are of Michael Jackson eating popcorn with the words added, “I’m just here for the comments.”) 19 to post that this page is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a light bulb page. 11 to defend the posting to this page saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant here. 24 to discuss the merits of LED/swirly fluorescent light bulbs 44 to claim LED and fluorescent bulbs will kill you. 12 to post F. 8 to ask what F means. 7 to post 'Following' but there's 3 dots at the top right that means you don't have to. 3 to say "can't share" 2 to reply "can't share from a closed group" 36 People to post pics of their own light bulbs. 15 People to post "I can't see S$%^!" and use their own light bulbs. 6 to report the post or PM an admin because someone said "f÷×$" 4 to say "Didn't we go through this already a short time ago?". 13 to say "Do a search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs". 1 to bring politics into the discussion by adding that (insert politician of choice) isn't the brightest bulb. This usually takes place within the first three comments. 50 more to get into personal attacks over their political views. 5 admins to ban the light bulb posters who took it all too seriously. 1 late arrival to comment on the original post 6 months later and start it all over again.
  3. Part of the problem I think is that what is banter and piss taking verbally can come across as nasty when typed. That said there are a few on here who derail a good thread and spout their diatribe then come the offended innocent when challenged or just get abusive if anyone has a different view.
  4. This happened yesterday and is important information for our age group. A friend had his 2nd dose of the vaccine at the vaccination center after which he began to have blurred vision on the way home. When he got home, he called the vaccination center for advice and to ask if he should go see a doctor, or be hospitalised. He was asked to go back to the vaccination center immediately as he had left his glasses behind.
  5. Agree windblown and root plate settled back. UK Power networks cover Norfolk.

  9. As you say for a fiver will swap them out. Counterintuitive though all previous experience with expansion springs is they open up when failing which is why I thought they were OK.
  10. Thanks Spud checked clutch springs and coils are sitting tight together. Took flywheel and clutch off and all as it should be, no foreign bodies floating around. I did notice before stripping it further that it was generally freer which makes me think maybe there was something there which has dropped out or alternatively as you suggested the rings were gummed up. Have WD40'd it and have now rebuilt it and can pull it over and start it. It's still not easy but it has always been hard to pull over right from new, probably one reason why I don't use it as my main saw. Note to self never buy petrol chainsaw without decompressor! Will see how it performs over next week or so. Anyway thanks to you for your advice and indeed to all for your helpful suggestions.
  11. Thanks for all the replies. Starter mechanism is working ok and not binding. Chain brake is working ok and bar does not try to turn when starting everything seems to be working as it should. Have just managed to spend a few more minutes looking at it and it seems a bit freer than before no funny noises or anything obvious binding. Have out some WD40 in bore but this was after finding it had gone a bit easier to turn flywheel. Clutch is free with no obvious broken springs but I can see what looks like a bright piece of wire underneath it between two segments, just visible in photo as bright spot sorry can't get a better photo. Not sure what it is but will take clutch off this evening and have a look. As I've said clutch springs look ok. Maybe somethings moved while I've been looking at it and handling it.
  12. Thanks Khriss, no it pulls over evenly but slowly with plug out can hear it compressing and exhausting ok. No funny noises.
  13. Hi, My 251 has developed a problem in that it is extremely hard to pull over - so much so that it's not possible to start it. Has not had a lot of use as it's basically a back up saw to my 450e which I much prefer using. Both saws are run on same mix. Have pulled muffler off and can't see any dramatic signs of any pickup in fact was a bit surprised at machined surface finish on piston - looks like a ploughed field to me! Pulls over a bit better with spark plug out but even then difficult. I seem to remember a comment a bit ago about little ends could give problems on these? Saw was brand new to me and probably not done much more than 50-100 hours total but does get used every month or so. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Was skilled fitter back in the day and still maintain all our farm and forestry equipment so happy to get stuck in but just never pulled a chainsaw apart.
  14. Awesome offer.
  15. That's a bummer. On the bright side look at all the support and encouragement you've had on here from the guys. Also the offer of that free three day course from Rough Hewn is superb.
  16. You need a machine shop - should think there are some in your area if you google machine shop.

  21. Sorry it's put the print screen in multiple times
  22. Displaying ok for me.
  23. Having had livestock trailer pinched by them, injured cockerels thrown in our field having been used for cock fighting, threatened with having house burnt down, their stallions breaking fences down and running loose and pestered to sell stuff I don't want to I'll call "travellers" for the scum most of them are any time.
