  1. Phone them up and talk to them we had a refusal and when we talked to them it turned out assessor had checked wrong property.
  2. Don't think this one was taken out of the freezer or forged by the sabs, this is the case where the huntsman threw 4 live fox cubs to the hounds in the kennels in 2016. https://www.cornwalllive.com/news/cornwall-news/huntsman-threw-fox-cubs-kennel-2964035
  3. Lucky enough to have 7 in our wood a firm favourite.
  4. From my deerstalking training unless you had a clear shot to the heart area within your capabilities you didn't take the shot. Sadly with the hounds it's not a swift bite to the neck it's more often chased to exhaustion then ripped apart by the pack. Never shot a deer yet but that's another story. I suffer in having the Oakley Hunt as immediate neighbours and see regularly atvs with terrier boxes on the back along with shovels etc following the hunt. So if you're trail hunting why do you need terriermen? No one from the hunt will answer that one. Also I watch them laying a trail with the atv, shame it's following the hunt not leading it! Google Mark Hankinson and the infamous 'smokescreen' video, he was charged and found guilty. I am not anti hunt but have suffered from multiple trespass, verbal abuse and physical threats over many years and this continues every hunt season. I do not allow sabs in my wood either, I'm not going to be the battleground for both sides to fight on. And I was from a council estate and scrimped and scraped to afford my woodland.
  5. Filled in the form but make sure you come back and give us a quick update of the results.
  6. Brought back many unhappy memories of growing up and being responsible for cutting the privet hedges at home. Must have been at least 150 yards of the stuff which I had to cut with a pair of hand shears, no hedge trimmers in those days. When I'd had enough of that I had to cut the back lawn fortunately only about 15 sq yards with self same shears. Parents were too poor (mean?) to buy even a hand push mower. Happily the better half enjoys cutting the grass with a petrol mower I hasten to add. Needless to say no privet in my hedges nowadays!
  7. Other picture on deck looks like radial aero engine?
  8. Gearbox selector shaft mechanism
  9. It's part of a detent locking mechanism, spring loaded ball bearing goes into spherical indentations so it can be held in different positions, possibly to hold a flap open at different positions. Used on shafts in car. gearboxes to hold gearstick in gear

  17. Thought of the Day [emoji23] Q: How many group members does it take to change a light bulb ? 1 to change the light bulb and to post that the light bulb has been changed. 14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently. 7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs. 17 purists who use candles and are offended by light bulb discussions. 6 to argue over whether it's 'lightbulb' or 'light bulb'. Another 6 to condemn those 6 as stupid. 22 to tell THOSE 6 to stop being jerks. 2 industry professionals to inform the group that the proper term is 'lamp'. 15 know-it-alls who claim they were in the industry, and that 'light bulb' is perfectly correct. 49 to post memes and gifs (several are of Michael Jackson eating popcorn with the words added, “I’m just here for the comments.”) 19 to post that this page is not about light bulbs and to please take this discussion to a light bulb page. 11 to defend the posting to this page saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant here. 24 to discuss the merits of LED/swirly fluorescent light bulbs 44 to claim LED and fluorescent bulbs will kill you. 12 to post F. 8 to ask what F means. 7 to post 'Following' but there's 3 dots at the top right that means you don't have to. 3 to say "can't share" 2 to reply "can't share from a closed group" 36 People to post pics of their own light bulbs. 15 People to post "I can't see S$%^!" and use their own light bulbs. 6 to report the post or PM an admin because someone said "f÷×$" 4 to say "Didn't we go through this already a short time ago?". 13 to say "Do a search on light bulbs before posting questions about light bulbs". 1 to bring politics into the discussion by adding that (insert politician of choice) isn't the brightest bulb. This usually takes place within the first three comments. 50 more to get into personal attacks over their political views. 5 admins to ban the light bulb posters who took it all too seriously. 1 late arrival to comment on the original post 6 months later and start it all over again.
  18. Part of the problem I think is that what is banter and piss taking verbally can come across as nasty when typed. That said there are a few on here who derail a good thread and spout their diatribe then come the offended innocent when challenged or just get abusive if anyone has a different view.
  19. This happened yesterday and is important information for our age group. A friend had his 2nd dose of the vaccine at the vaccination center after which he began to have blurred vision on the way home. When he got home, he called the vaccination center for advice and to ask if he should go see a doctor, or be hospitalised. He was asked to go back to the vaccination center immediately as he had left his glasses behind.

  24. As you say for a fiver will swap them out. Counterintuitive though all previous experience with expansion springs is they open up when failing which is why I thought they were OK.
  25. Thanks Spud checked clutch springs and coils are sitting tight together. Took flywheel and clutch off and all as it should be, no foreign bodies floating around. I did notice before stripping it further that it was generally freer which makes me think maybe there was something there which has dropped out or alternatively as you suggested the rings were gummed up. Have WD40'd it and have now rebuilt it and can pull it over and start it. It's still not easy but it has always been hard to pull over right from new, probably one reason why I don't use it as my main saw. Note to self never buy petrol chainsaw without decompressor! Will see how it performs over next week or so. Anyway thanks to you for your advice and indeed to all for your helpful suggestions.
