  1. I know a few guys who make their own oversized pallets. Not cheap but very useful. [emoji106]
  2. The tension and compression in that branch will make it useless to turn until it stabilizes. I’m guessing 5 years in a breezy covered place minimum. Otherwise it’s firewood. [emoji106]
  3. Very nice mate[emoji106] Have you tried Instagram? I sell a lot of wood on there. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  4. Looks like a wasp. You can’t mistake a euro hornet. They sound like a moped when they fly. [emoji51]
  5. That’s character mate! I get asked for all sorts of mad wood... Few weeks ago guy wanted rotten slabs which fall apart... to resin back together. That whole log sold in an hour. [emoji106]
  6. Milled this big gnarly oak today, Stihl 880 panther 80” mill. 8-9’ slabs 20”+ by 4” thick. Heavy!!![emoji51][emoji51][emoji51] [emoji106]
  7. Send photos to stihl technical department. They are really helpful[emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  8. What’s the mill? The top bar is in two pieces??? Only two cross bars! No doubt it works... but I’d be having a chat with@RobD about a panther.[emoji6][emoji106] Great work [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  9. Walnut canopy with coppiced sweet chestnut and hazel understorey. Chuck a few elm, oak, ash and yew in with some pioneer birches etc. Dream woodland!!! [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  10. 1st rule of firewood club.... ?[emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  11. Great old saw, fix it up! [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  12. That’s a useful pile of kit. Drop, chop n mill. [emoji16][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  13. Pay the extra. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  14. Great setup[emoji106] That’s a full trailer load of stunning slabs[emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  15. Just checked, mines a 2018. No, there was definitely a problem with the earlier models. I actually quite like a 241 and worked with one for several months. It probably would be a good choice for the OP. Just love my 261 more. [emoji106]
  16. I don’t mix anything now. Get the 55 litre drums of motomix. Pre mixed alkylate petrol with stihl ultra. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  17. Wow great set up! How big a panther bar do you make ? [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  18. Stihl 261, it’s a pro saw. The crankshaft problem was fixed years ago. Mine is a 2017, I thrash it a lot. 241’s are ok but underpowered. [emoji106]
  19. Test cutting back in 2018 with the 462 and 500i The difference in torque is very noticeable, the 500i nearly pulls the log stand over. [emoji106]
  20. What diameters and lengths? Price for roadside? Where are you advertising? Can you deliver small 1-5ton loads? As there’s a lot of people with small mill setups now looking for logs. [emoji106]
  21. Round wood frames, ship masts, log cabins, cladding, beams, planks, furniture etc... [emoji106]
  22. Poplar tree services is in your area. I’d highly recommend them. [emoji106]
  23. That saw is going to be expensive to run. And by that I mean spare parts. Start looking for something more modern. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
