  1. On paper and in the wood are totally different. The 560 won't handle a 25" bar well unless it's been to spud. Posted this before, I just like it. Stock 461 vs 560 spudded Both 25" bars [emoji12][emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  2. The whole caboodle for 30k? Did I read that right?
  3. Last year I was given a pair of insulated waterproof gloves. These. Like a sock in a glove but better [emoji106]
  4. 100% what J says about forestry. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  5. Gas burner, kettle, several ceramic mugs, tea n coffee for those really cold days. A hot cuppa anything whilst standing in snow, mud etc. [emoji106]
  6. Take the battery out at the end of the day. There is no off button, just the chain brake.
  7. Electrickery tis the future [emoji106]
  8. They rock! Filing is a pain though. [emoji106]
  9. Good firewood [emoji848]
  10. Nptc?
  11. AMP services in hove Sussex have them in stock. Rupert will give you a great deal. Bit of a trek though.
  12. Where abouts are you?
  13. Try@squaredy on here too
  14. I'd be happy to pay postage on that. [emoji106]
  15. It's not like just anyone can walk into a shop and buy a chainsaw with a 48" bar. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]
  16. Nope, all the same. I can't upload the data sheet.
  17. I ordered the aluminium 1.6ton The steel one arrived.
  18. The 362 and the 441 are dogs compared to a 440 or 461. The 462 can't handle a 25" bar. The 560 is rather temperamental and won't run a 25" bar unless ported. Haven't tried the 562 but I'm not a husky fan. I want to cut wood, not fix dodgy engineering. Yes stihl have a slightly lower rpm, but they work every time.
  19. Ive destroyed various crap Chinese winches. The Yale cable puller is bomb proof. I'd love to see some photos of a Yale you've broken?
  20. Ever considered: Take a dead machine to dealer, Dealer says uneconomical to fix. You buy a new machine. He fixes old one. Voila. I know a dealer who does this. Or: Guy next to my old workshop sells all kinds of machinery, goes round car boots, Friday ads, auctions etc. Pays a few quid per tool. He's making a killing. One guy turned up with a transit van full of boxed tools. All returns. He paid about £6 per tool on about several hundred dewalt, makita, stihl etc. All legit. Worse thing is he's only 18 years old. I'm not jealous. ☹️
  21. Crack on matey. Just go safe and slow. Good luck [emoji106]
  22. What's that number?
  23. My first solo milling job went horribly wrong, Several large ash stems in London. Guy said they'd been down a few months, more like several years. Couldn't even finish one cut without blunting the chain. 8 hours two full cuts. Buggered 48" chain. I hate milling ash now. That's cedar in the photo, cuts great. Oak is considerably denser and much slower to cut. These days I run the 661 flat down the top of the log to remove crap and lumps. Ladder straight on with straps and a block at top end. I drill the rungs on my ladder and screw direct sometimes. I post photos on Arbtalk to advertise. But be prepared to drive long distances as they are rarely local. Often a client will ask their tree surgeon about milling then they get hold of me. [emoji3][emoji106]
  24. On a lighter note... [emoji12][emoji12][emoji12][emoji106]
