  1. Best saw husky made is a 395. Utter monster. [emoji106]
  2. Wear socks +1 [emoji12]
  3. Hey Forestboy, Do you work alone or in a team? What's your idea to take the oaks down? Free fall or rigged? What chipper are you using? What's the access/drag like? How long will it take you to finish the job? If I remember correctly, you only passed your 30,31,38,39 recently. Have you worked with other tree surgeons before? Or did you just spend 50k on courses and kit, then opened up a tree surgery business?
  4. 2 x ten foot long, 3 feet wide. 3 inch slabs mainly. Includes fuel and oil. A ladder is the fastest setup I've seen. [emoji106]
  5. £325 a day if you supply a labourer or £425 if I do. 880 with 4' mill and 661 with 3'. Normally a 9 hour day. Travel on top, and all running aspen and bio oil. [emoji106]
  6. Yep, can't stand it. Rather use a 261 or 461.
  7. Got a big sycamore milling job on Monday, If I can cut 4" for the client I'll post some pics. [emoji106]
  8. Another quality video blaisey. [emoji106] Personally the wider the board the thicker the slab. Getting into milling 4" boards with wide butts. The cohesion of fibres is better, less distortion and so much less sawdust. [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
  9. The 362 is a dog. The power of a 50cc with the weight of a 70cc. The 462 is way ahead. A spud ported 560 cuts about the same as a 461. But weighs lots less. [emoji106]
  10. It's a state school, in Huddersfield. Looks like it's been managed, lack of deadwood etc. Informed the school today. Photos and email at reception.
  11. Yeah, Might talk to the school later today. If they want I'll do it as a freebie. Thanks for the advice [emoji106]
  12. My daughter has just started a new school with a small woodland. Couldn't help noticing this. I'm no tree surveyor, but I thought this might need sorting. Any advice?
  13. Yale do a cable puller identical to tirfor but half the price. I've got the 1.6 ton version and it's pretty tasty. Weighs quite a bit though, with steel cables and ropes etc. Gets heavier the further you have to walk it. The 3.2 ton version is about the weight of a small bungalow. If you get one, get the appropriate rated strops, shackles and rigging rope. [emoji106]
  14. Some work from the last year.

  17. Not sure about this Wonky, Informed at work about 3 weeks ago, we could legally carry 330 litres of fuel in a vehicle. I presume this means you are allowed to store that amount?
  18. How much for 200 litres delivered?
  19. Ages. Never timed one. But two batteries should last all day. [emoji106]
