  1. So the rather beat up Woodmizer went for £3900 plus 36% on top of that! Are people insane?
  2. I just noticed you wrote made and designed in England since 1854. Should that not be Scotland then?
  3. What other option is there for slabs that wide? I think a Lucas Mill will slab up to 1.2m but any wider than that and you need an Alaskan. I find with a winch you keep you’re head out the fumes and it’s not so back breaking. But you still get a sweat on right enough. ?
  4. Ill assume you have to dismantle and collect yourself?
  5. Well, if someones gonna hijack my thread this is the pics to do it! Thats stunning! All sold now? Or drying out? How much do you expect to get for them? Get much work with the Lucas Mill?
  6. I thought Esse was originally Scottish? Scottish lads who went to the US, learned about Stoves and Casting then came back to Glasgow and opened a Foundry?
  7. Following on from the other Oak Slabbing thread. Did not wanna hijack it. Will have a few more to do this winter, maybe even bigger. Will need a new Mill and Bar I think.
  8. My quip when a little over your head it seems?
  9. Very nice. I was bidding on a HM126 that was 2 years old, had an extension kit and 10 blades. Went to £2950 as I got a little carried away and let the other bidder take it. My feeling was that the whole package was £4k new and paying 25% below full price when its just out of warranty is mad. Guess they hold thier value well. If it comes to it I'll just pay the extra 25% and have piece of mind.
  10. I'll hazard a guess and say Edenmill, Kent.
  11. Yes, maybe thats what I'll have to but I was hoping to get a used one and more for my money.
  12. I have a Woodwarm Wildwood for sale on ebay if anyone is interested? Way to big for my house. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Warmwood-Wildwood-Fireview-20Kw-Stove-with-Back-Boilers-Wood-Burning-Stove/253982148480?hash=item3b22840780:g:ZqoAAOSwo3Bb7VSg:rk:1:pf:0
  13. Would that be anyway more secure than the traditional vibration type tool you can use yourself and cost peanuts to do?
  14. Maybe just post what price you'd like?
  15. Any considered. Budget would be depending on what was available really. If budget was no issue obviously Id just buy new.
  16. Resurrecting a a dead thread here. But if anyone is selling A Lucas or Peterson Mill let me know.
  17. Never heard of them? I buggered my back a few years ago and when they finally put me up to morphine level thery just continued to throw it at me. God boxes and bottles of the stuff now.
  18. Been there, done that here in Norway. Never again. I now work 100 days a year.
  19. I have some liquid morphine. Lets face it, its all you really need to help the passing-.
  20. Same as Scotland as far as Im concerned.
